Nah, we just had lackluster arms shootin the dice. Bumgarner's dice game is cold. Jeff Weaver's and Derek Lowe's dice games...not so much.

Don't know, but they sent the biggest one to San Diego. Maybe they'll send Conte and company to SD too?

Guessing this is the last year for Conte. One of the writers mentioned a couple weeks ago that all these similar, avoidable injuries was not lost on the front office. After a year with this medical staff, my guess is that they move on to someone else.

Imagine if they were to move on from both this med staff and DBB in one off-season. But of course the DBB topic is a hell of a rabbit hole, so I'll leave that. But yeah, get Conte and company outta there before the injury plague does the unthinkable and spreads to the pitching staff. :hide:

Just because they plan on being a deep org doesn't mean they wanna put 10-20 guys on the DL with the same injury and run through allllllll the depth. Lol

The crazy thing is, they have. It sounds like they are looking into some breakthrough ideas to try to keep the guys healthy.

Scavuzzo keeps hitting, Dodgers showing versatility in Arizona Fall League
by Eric Stephen | True Blue LA — November 15, 2015

Jacob Scavuzzo played in four games this week in the Arizona Fall League, and in all four games he had an extra-base hit for the Glendale Desert Dogs. He was also one of four Dodgers to play multiple positions this week in the desert.

The Dodgers outfield prospect didn't play any first base in a game as he intimated might be a possibility two weeks ago, but he did play one game in center field in addition to two games in left and one at designated hitter. But his main contribution has been at the plate, where he is hitting .367/.381/.650 with nine extra-base hits in 14 games in the AFL.

Scavuzzo, ranked by our David Hood as the Dodgers' 28th-best prospect heading into 2016, was 6-for-18 (.333) this week, with doubles on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and a two-run home run on Saturday, his fourth of the AFL. Scavuzzo has an active eight-game hitting streak, including five straight games with an extra-base hit.

Brandon Dixon was 2-for-15 (.133) with a walk and a double in his four games, but the news here is that he played center field on Wednesday in addition to his three other games at second base. He played 16 games in center field and 15 games in left field between Class-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Tulsa in 2015 in addition to his 93 games at second base.

Dixon was drafted as a third baseman in 2013 and played exclusively at the position with Class-A Great Lakes that year, but since then has been mostly a second baseman, playing only four games at third base in the last two years.

Kyle Farmer caught two games during the week and played another game at third base, on Tuesday. He was 2-for-9 (.222) with a double, two walks and two RBI during the week. His final game was Thursday.

Brandon Trinkwon played three games this week, his most during the AFL, including two games at second base and once at third base. He was 3-for-11 (.273) with three walks (.429 on-base percentage) and an RBI.

On the pitching side, Jharel Cotton was stretched out for his longest start of the AFL on Tuesday, pitching into the fourth inning while throwing 59 pitches. He allowed two runs and walked three in 3⅔ innings to get hung with the loss, but he also struck out five, giving him 17 strikeouts in 14⅓ innings in Arizona and a 25.8-percent strikeout rate.

Cotton's final start is scheduled for Monday afternoon against Salt River.

Ralston Cash pitched in one game this week, throwing two scoreless innings on Thursday, with three strikeouts at Salt River.

Michael Johnson pitched a pair of scoreless innings, with three strikeouts in total.

Rob Rogers allowed two runs in two innings with two strikeouts in his two games this week. He pitched a scoreless frame on Tuesday at Scottsdale, then allowed the two runs on Friday against Peoria.

Scott Barlow also allowed two runs in two innings with two strikeouts in his two appearances. He got into and escaped a bases-loaded jam on Wednesday against Scottsdale in a scoreless inning, then allowed two runs in his inning on Saturday at Peoria.

Notes on Cotton from the AFL (Eric longenhagen from ESPN insider)

    • Dodgers righty Jharel Cotton missed two months with a broken non-throwing wrist and made about half as many starts this year as last before coming to the AFL, where he has thrown well. Cotton has been sitting 90-95 mph with a plus changeup that has been disappearing like D.B. Cooper beneath the bats of both left- and right-handed hitters. He also has shown an average curveball and cutter, the latter topping out at 90 mph. Cotton's delivery isn't very direct, and he has had rashes of wildness, but I believe he can cure that with reps; in time, he'll throw enough strikes to start and slot into the middle of a rotation as a third or fourth starter.

Wow, that would be great to hear if he can work all that out. A good change up is a serious weapon in the game today since so many pitchers are relying more and more on fastballs and cutters.

Get ready with the 'cranky old fart' retorts.

Why not just say "a broken left wrist" instead of "a broken non-throwing wrist"? You've already established that he's right handed, so why make me pause to think 'what is "non-throwing"? I'm sorry, but I come from the 'say what you mean, mean what you say' school of writing. Get in there, say it, and get the fuck out.

Dodgers 2015 Arizona Fall League recap
by Eric Stephen | True Blue LA — 7 hours ago

The Arizona Fall League regular season wrapped up today, with the Glendale Desert Dogs finishing with a 5-1 over the Mesa Solar Sox.
    • Jacob Scavuzzo went 1-for-4 with a run scored on Thursday, but most notably played first base, something he hinted two weeks ago might happen in Arizona, after taking ground balls at the position in drills.
    • Scavuzzo, a corner outfielder who also mixed in time in center field in the AFL, hit .377/.389/.623 with four home runs in 16 games, including 4-for-9 (.444) this week. He ended his season on a 10-game hitting streak, hitting .378 (17-for-45) in that span, and finished second in the AFL in batting average to White Sox outfielder Adam Engel (.403).
    • Brandon Trinkwon played second base and went 2-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday, and was 3-for-9 (.333) this week.
    • Brandon Dixon was 3-for-8 (.375) with a double this week, playing one game at second base and another in center field.
    • Scott Barlow pitched two perfect innings of relief, striking out two, on Wednesday.
    • Jharel Cotton's final scheduled start on Monday was rained out and he didn't pitch again the rest of the week.
    Here are the final Arizona Fall League batting and pitching stats for the Dodgers who played for Glendale, who finished 13-15;

I agree for the most part, wouldn't be surprised if Buehler (even though he won't debut until 2017), Cotton or Anderson were #10.
