He is not fat. He just talks about eating crappy food. Think Lamar Odom with the candy. Lamar was never fat, on the contrary. Yet he only rarely ever looked 'strong'. Not till later in his career when the Lakers got him to ease up on the shitty food and hit the weights. Joc may be in better shape than ever. He may be putting on a lot of muscle to go all in on his meal ticket, the power swing. Problem is that the added bulk messes up your swing both physically and mentally. The player needs to adjust, most players are not especially adept at adjusting. So Joc may not be suffering from the same physical issues that have been the bane of Puig. And why people like Irish kept insisting he was fat and out of shape. Joc and Puig are neither. They are incredible athletes, especially for the standard of baseball players.
