Most people picking the Cards because of better depth in SPs and better deeper BP and much better defense. LA gets the edge for the lineup. I hate it so deeply, but in all honesty, those assessments are accurate , IMO. I think Metheny gets the edge, too, I would say over DBB. We'll just have to make the experts wrong, I say.
Only way I see Kershaw pitching game 7 is if we are up 3-2 going into game 6 and DBB throws Ryu in for game 6. That would leave Kershaw available to pitch game 7 if needed. But I'm hoping for an easy sweep!!!
Fuck man, I wonder what the umpiring crew will be for the NLCS?? Anyone know if they have announced umpire crews yet??
They have more SP depth sure, but our 1 is better than their 1 and our 2 is better than their 2. Not to mention, I know you're not one for these types of things, but http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.as...0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=19,d
The Dodgers had a bad defensive game last time out, but really they don't have a defensive liability (like an Evin Gatti). So this isn't a surprise if you think about it.
I fear Yadier!!!! Having Zack and Kersh 4 times if necessary will be the key. I NEED a series win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't surprise me at all. Uribe and Mark are ++ defenders, Crawford, Ethier, A-Gon and AJ are above average, and Puig is at best average. Even Hanley didn't have a bad year at SS, no one was really below average.
slow down. the Cards have the modern day Babe Ruth in their lineup. Greinke doesn't turn Beltran around and make him a righty, so Beltran is definitely a reason why we wouldn't be coming home with a 2-0 lead
Who the fuck is Grainkey? I mean you butchered the fuck out of that name! you took "sound it out" to a whole new level.
I agree with you on the 1&2 qualities, but unfortunately they can't pitch back to back until the series is over. I don't think Ryu matches up well with Wainwright at all, especially since Wainwright now is being compared to Jesus and is better than the greatest human who ever existed since the beginning of time...whoever you might consider that person to be. Adam may actually now be Divine, you know. Actually , I thought the D behind him got him over the hump more than a few times. Lots of luck for Adam, who , of course, comes from Eden. Forget the number four spot; I don't even have an idea who it would even be for us. Volquez? Capuano? Nolast ho? Fife? Shumaker's wife? Lots of predicted stuff goes right out the window in the playoffs anyway. Like Broxton/Stairs...who knew?
C'mon bro, you're thinking with your heart here, aren't you? AJ?? And I sure hope Gonzo has got that shit out of his system. Ethier's good no doubt, but IDK how that ankle will affect him. Somehow though, through all these pretty good ratings here, we managed to stink up the place catching and throwing more than anyone for quite a while in the NL. I agree that it's most likely over, and the other night was an abberation.
IIRC don't the Cards struggle against LHP?? We can throw Ryu in game 3 and Capuano in game 4 if they are not confident in Nolasco and are up 2-1 or 3-0 by that point. Nolasco did pretty well against the Cards in the one game he pitched against them this season. But the MLB postseaon is a crap shoot and anything can happen and a lot can change game to game.
