not sleepin on Guerreo..just tough with all the depth. these are good problems to have, though. i know i'd love for them to have a platoon of sorts in LF with Guerrero and SVS next year..he could maybe play a bit of 3B/2B as well on some nights. imo, the best group that they could probably throw out there next year is ( and i'd probably order them this way in the lineup as well) -

    Puig, RF
    AGon, 1B
    Olivera, 3B
    Kendrick, 2B
    Seager, SS
    Grandal, C
    SVS/Guerrero, LF
    Joc, CF

rest of the bench..Kike Hernandez, Austin Barnes, Turner returns, and perhaps 1 more..maybe Heisey since he's been like the best pinch hitter in the league over the last few years. good mix of youth and experience. some good right handed thump there, but that's more of the sabermetric look lineup-wise..it could work with the added length to the lineup. i'd keep Joc at the bottom half with his OBP and ability to get us through the pitcher's spot..he's not quite the contact man to rely on yet to execute anyway. gonna be damn good in his current role for at least a couple years.

I wouldn't think management would trade a top prospect like Heaney was for a 1 year rental, I think they want him long term and ideally our 2016 IF is Olivera, Seager, Kendrick, Gonzalez.

Contigent on moving Crawford and Ethier, which I wouldn't consider as likely at this point. The problem with your bench is that it is entirely right handed and that is a problem, need a lefty or two in there. With those players though (which sounds like an awesome starting 8 BTW), I'd do:
    CF Joc
    RF Puig
    1B Gonzalez
    LF Guerrero/SVS
    2B Kendrick
    SS Seager
    3B Olivera
    C Grandal
    Pitcher's spot
Either way this season just started and we really shouldn't be talking about this.

don't believe the hype. they got more than just Grandal in that deal.

good point there too. we should all be of the belief that this group loves young assets and draft picks, but to say that they picked up Heaney and dealt him for Kendrick with the qualifying offer/draft pick as their goal..that whole scenario kind of defeats the purpose. Heaney was the young asset..no need to draft one. just keep him and don't trade him for a rental.

but no, both Kasten and Friedman have had designs on securing Howie Kendrick for quite a while now. we should've had him for Lee a couple years back..might have changed our fortunes in the playoffs somewhat.

Yeah, they also got a AAAA pitcher (Wieland) and a prospect they flipped with Windle for our .216 hitting leadoff man. Meanwhile Kemp is hitting .361 and second in the NL in RBI's

you just praised Rollins for having his moments the other day and c'mon now..Wieland was brought in for starting pitching depth that's under team control. He's arguably better than Lee and Frias.

are they having a Kemp impact? nah, but talk to me about Kemp in 2 years. the market was bare for him for a reason.

Yeah and in two years, Rollins will be in an old folks home and Grandal is still a ? mark because he hasn't proved anything so far during his major league career. The market wasn't that bare, Dodgers got several calls on Kemp in the off-season.

and Seager might be at SS for the next however many years, so are you gonna continue to complain about Kemp when Kemp's washed up and Seager's mashing? or is it all good at that point? what about Joc?..getting rid of Kemp cleared the way for him and he's lookin OK right now, right?

you believed the hype and bought Bum's bullshit. smh

he's proven that he can hit the ball hard, get on base, and help his pitchers keep opposing hitters off base. that doesn't work for you?

so then you believe that they turned down better deals to keep Kemp within the division? do tell.

1st of all, Especially Seager and Joc have nothing to do with that trade being good or not, an OF of Joc, Puig, and Kemp could have worked. Grandal hasn't proven much except he is really good at framing a ball and also not good at keeping the ball in front of him.

The #Dodgers would have traded Matt Kemp to the #Dbacks for CF A.J. Pollock, but rejected Dbacks counter-offer of pitcher Archie Bradley .

dude, Kemp is done in 2 years..you get out from under that contract when you can. bottom line. Ethier and Crawford are on their way out pretty soon as well. this new front office is cleaning up all that bullshit. as soon as they get the deal they want for them, adios.

aren't you the guy who said that a .350 OBP would be great for Joc? you don't believe getting on base at a .353 clip means anything for Grandal? that seems fair. have you seen AJ's OBP? Grandal's also hitting the ball hard..just right at defensive players..you've commented on that as well.

wtf are we even goin over this for in late April? because of Bums? this shit was done to death months ago. you made a good point and then he hit you with some bullshit and you bought it. we're 9-4 without Kemp, without Hanley, without Puig playing at a high level, without Ryu, without Kenley, etc. chillllllllll

The concern about Olivera is his arm. With his elbow issues and his workout he looked like a second baseman according to some scouts. Plus he played second base in Cuba. With possible surgery included I think its likely he would end up at second

If his arm checks out then I'd love an infield of Olivera/Seager/Kendrick/Gonzalez but that also rests on if

    1) Seager is a legit SS in the eyes of the team.
    2) Oliveras arm and glove is sufficient enough to be adequate at 3B.
    3) howie doesn't receive some offer that AF and FZ deem too much and don't match

we can revisit this in sept when 1 player is in the running for an MVP and the other is playing twice a week.....
had to get those rants off my chest. for now, well today at least, im back to fuck the gnats.
ohh btw, loved watching dum dum fall asleep on the job again last night when he played the infield deep in a 0-0 game. he just refuses to get out of his own way. god willing today is the start of another 7 wins

When Grandal is hitting in the middle of our lineup consistently and hitting .188 with 2 RBI's (and his OBP is .316 BTW), that is a problem. It's nice that you think Crawford and Ethier are that easily tradable, because no one else does. And you can't say Matt Kemp is "done" in two years, that is ridiculous, he is 30 years old.

It' early. Just 2 weeks into the season but Grandal is bleh. In a perfect world we'd have one more middle of the order bat to push him down to 6th or 7th.
