Doubt his agent would be cool with that with his veto and all.
    Probably flip Grandal instead.

Don't think LAD is on his no-trade list.

Josh Reddick in the month of July ( returning from a thumb injury) - .286/.355/.476 in 93 plate appearances
About 100pts above the average OPS

    I'm a C and above f***tard lover. :(
Well, not lover. But I don't hate them. Yet.

If they dont make a move, it's probably because there are too many holes to fill and the market would destroy us. Look at the prices for these trades. Unreal.

Plus where is the guarantee that the guy we get won't get injured. Craziest shit I have ever seen and I've been a fan since 74. I don't trust our luck at all.

Don't you know price doesn't matter? Win now at all costs, it's the only way.

You could make an argument that one move could put us over the top in years past. But not this season. Too much has gone wrong health wise and the window is closing on the Guggenheim 2012-2013 splurge roster. We had our chances to win a world series with that core. But we're in a transition phase and if we ship off a bunch of prospects now, it'd ruin everything.

Just a question though, when is the next window?

When we had Greinke, Puig is his better days, Adrian still taking, Ramirez still productive, and Ryu a solid #3, wasn't that the time where maybe we had 1 hole to plug and make a go.

Now we have a lot more holes that seem to be slotted to be filled by the prospects, which is fine. But when does the FO pull the trigger on something? When is the right time?

Corey Seager represents the next window.
That's why having a great farm that produces is a pretty solid idea.

This is JMO, and the way I've been seeing it for a long, long time. Feel free to disagree. The Gugg 2012-13 splurge roster was the transition phase...it was meant to keep the team competitive and maybe win while the farm was stocked and rebuilt through draft, trade, and international signings. The roster you see now, with the coming additions in the next two seasons, is the one that will carry this team to a championship. Yes there was a chance to win then, but things went wrong, just as things are going wrong now.

I agree with the final statement, shipping off prospects now is like drilling a hole in the bottom of a boat to let the water out. If that means no significant move now, then that is what will happen. The FO has shown the last two seasons that they don't intend to sell off the farm and I believe they stay the course.

    yup
    i know i'm a :brokenrecord: but...
    • no to sale (at his price tag)
    • no to archer (at his price tag)
    • no to bruce (at any price)
if you can get reddick for puig and mid-levels prospects, do it
    otherwise sit pat

and fwiw, i was one of the biggest "they better do something at the deadline" guys a couple months back
but i'd rather they do nothing than do something stupid/desperate
