I'm not sure what it would have cost to get Storen since the Nats got back a decent, but not extraordinary everyday MLB player that could likely man CF for them. Nothing really like that, that you would really want to see going from the Dodgers since SVS is still good and cheap, while Thompson could be pretty good still. Storen is ok, but man does he choke in the big games. Seems to be one of those guys that can really let things get to his head, not really one to lose sleep over.

    From Jeff Passan:
Source: Mariners acquire right-hander Joe Wieland from the Dodgers. Minor leaguers believed to be coming back from Seattle to Los Angeles.

Joe Wieland to the Mariners according to Passan... probably not much coming in return, but could be interesting since Wieland was a serviceable 4-5 starter. Guessing it could be a bullpen arm or two coming back.

BTW, Mariners system is fucking terrible, so it could be one of their better prospects, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. Just looking it over, a guy not in our systems top 30 anymore could slide into the M's top 15 or even 10... yuck.

Dodgers get infielder Erick Mejia in return.

Pretty much a meh move. Trading from an area of depth for an area where they severely lack depth

or they get Erick Mejia who is nothing of note in their system and is likely just MIF depth at the lower levels.

Looks like Mejia is a not as much of a throw away prospect as I had suspected. Sounds like he has a good glove, some serious speed and a decent bat. Not likely a starter down the road, but bench depth up the middle is sorely needed with this org right now. Which is also a good reason to believe that the Dodgers will pursue Randy Arozarena. The teams MIF depth is not nearly as filled with potential as it is in the OF.

This is worse than that time we lost Jon Meloan. Fuck! This will bite us in the arse like that trade did.

Another trade, DFA'd players Tyler Olson and Ronald Torreyes go to Yankees for Rob Segedin and a PTBNL or cash (probably cash). 27 year old, non prospect off 40 man. 3B depth probably at AAA or AA

Rays are in active trade discussions regarding both starting and relief pitching. Guessing with all of the maneuvering in the last 24 hours, it could be the Dodgers pushing to get something done as today seems like they are starting to put the pieces in place to fill out the rest of the organization. They do love to make moves in flurries.

They apparently want a package similar to what the Marlins were looking for in return for Fernandez. Hard to see that happening. Would love a buy low on Cobb.

21 year old infielder Erick Mejia who got as high as AAA. Speedy guy with gap power.
