Spanky nailed it as his value is just not that high. Not to mention, if he comes out and repeats anywhere near that DRC+ of 150, the Dodgers are going to be kicking themselves for trading him for anything less than a King's ransom. Which he is not close to netting them. Just not gonna get anything worth rolling the dice on.

i didn't say his value was that high, only that i think its as high as it will be
but i have to believe other teams are at least intrigued by him and that he would make a solid piece in a trade
i like the guy and hope for the best no matter what
just doesn't seem like he fits exactly on an NL team idk

After watching the Dodgers reach the World Series in each of the last two seasons, fans aren’t about to abandon their team over an uninspiring offseason. But they do want the team to do more and some of them made their voices heard Saturday.

Such concerns are likely to be downplayed by team President Stan Kasten, who dismissed concerns over the team as “anecdotal,” even fictional.

“You keep making this stuff up,” Kasten said.

That was how Kasten started deflecting questions about the team’s alarming lack of spending this offseason.

“I’m dealing with facts,” Kasten said.

The facts, Kasten said, are that season-ticket sales point to the Dodgers leading baseball in attendance again. And if season tickets are selling, everything must be A-OK.

Of course, it’s not that simple.

At best, Kasten and Dodgers ownership are mistaking loyalty for satisfaction. At worst, they are taking advantage of their customers’ intense devotion.

Told fans would be interested in the details, Kasten replied, “Hold on. Let me finish the answer. Some of the things are elsewhere in the collective bargaining agreement that no one’s bothered to look at. Some of the things are inside baseball. So there are more advantages than just a little tax.”

    Still, no details.

    ...

Asked again if he didn’t want to offer fans an explanation for the team’s relative inactivity on the free-agent market, Kasten said, “You’re inventing a narrative that I don’t agree with because, like I said, I can almost tell you for sure, we’re going to lead the National League in attendance again.

    ...

Kasten playing with fire. But in 2 years when the players strike we will see the flood gates of fans not come back and baseball will begin to decline like the last strike that almost killed it.

Sosa McGwire & Bonds brought the excitement back even with the scandal of steroids and once that dust settled it still remained popular with additions of inter league play ect

    dear stan,
you're an arrogant little ckunt, aren't you?
but since you're [allegedly] citing facts, here's one for you... 30+ years bkitch
for two straight years now the team has risen to runner up -- but just not quite able to get over the top
and there's a player still available who would not only help the team get better, he would help with marketing, promotions, season ticket sales, concessions (i.e. increased revenue) that would help offset whatever you'd pay him
and, get this, he wants to play in la
think of him as kershaw, only he plays every day and (hopefully) isn't a perennial choker
and these aren't just "narratives" that i'm "inventing"
i'll leave it up to you if you want to continue taking advantage of our loyalty while presumably being content falling short
but as the above article states, do not mistake our loyalty with satisfaction
you may get mary hart and larry king to renew their season tickets annually
but if your master [fiscal] plan begins going south and/or the rest of the nl west gets better...
btw, how are those pollock jersey sales doing?
    fuck you,

Moose has been training to play 1b.
It has been reported that he looks good and has all the tools to become really good at 1b.
He has no problems with 3b though.
So why not bring him on too?
He can hit 25 or 35 homers a year and will be cheap.

Makes for a good DH in the WS too.
He does not necessarily need to platoon but he and David Freese provide for a good tandem at 1B.

I would like for Toles to get his shot too but where? They moved two starting OF brought in 1 and plan to move Verdugo. Still leaves a Joc or a Kike or a Taylor that needs to be traded for Toles to get on the roster.
Our team as bad as folks say it is will be tough to get in for a Toles.

    CF Pollock
    SS Seager
    3B Turner
    RF Bellinger
    2B Muncy
    C. Realmuto
    1B Freese
    LF Toles
DH Joc Kike Taylor Barnes Martin

That's a pretty good lineup even without a Harper or a Machado.

    • The San Diego Padres have notified Major League Baseball that they intend to switch back to a brown and gold color scheme for 2020 and beyond, as their fans have long clamored for a return to the distinctive brown color scheme used from the Padres' inception in 1969 into the 1980s.

this reeks of "he's suffered some unexpected complications we didn't anticipate" come opening day...
    • Corey Seager hasn’t taken batting practice since his injury last May, but he’s long-tossing in preparation for an important spring back in the middle of the Dodgers infield, per Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Seager isn’t yet mobilizing for groundballs or throwing across the diamond, but his recovery from Tommy John surgery has gone according to plan thus far and hope remains that he’ll be ready by Opening Day. He’s hitting off a tee, with the next steps being batting practice in the cage before going against live pitching. The Dodgers have the depth to cover for Seager if he’s not ready by Opening Day – with Chris Taylor the most likely stand-in – but he’s obviously a huge part of their team moving forward.

Was just joking a few days ago when I said ARod should scrounge up a group and buy the Dodgers to continue his competition with Jeter.
    Not anymore.
