I know you're being facetious, but that kind of deal for Seager would be a great deal for us given that he is 2 years closer to FA than Moncada. Seager won't accept it if it is offered though, because Boras, so you don't have to worry yourself about it.

Yeah, not a whole lot to worry about. Only the possibility of Seager getting a bigger offer from GG, him accepting it and continuing to be riddled with injuries and poor ABs in the fall. Other than that - all clear

A lineup that scored the most runs in the National League last year now boasts, alongside ’19 MVP Cody Bellinger, another MVP candidate—perhaps the second-best player in the game, after Mike Trout. No team in recent memory entered March with such an impressive collection of talent.

Betts noticed that right away, he said. He also noticed that effort was lackluster.

A few days into camp, the other Dodgers realized they had barely spoken to their new teammate. He was always one of the first to arrive at the facility and one of the last to leave, but he spent almost no time at his locker. His routine seemed scheduled to the second. Then they didn’t see too much of him during workouts, either—he was too busy winning every sprint to chat.

Betts is still just 27 (he hits a much-anticipated free agency after this season). But as he has gotten older, he has come to recognize the importance of seizing opportunities when they present themselves. So when he saw a lackadaisical approach on the first day of camp, he decided to speak up.

“I didn’t want to wait two months and then wish I’d said it,” he says.

Kick'em in the ass, Mookie. Soft, carefree label that the Dodgers have needs to die

    Step 1 of regime change.
    Expose and undercut the leader.
    Step 2... Take his woman.

Part of the reason I actively tried to ignore all their complaining about the scandal. I get that the circumstances are tough, but I'd just rather see a response to it all in their play..a response to it in how they attack this season. Talk is cheap. We need action. Leadership is so stale with this org. Damn, do I wish we had a Buck Showalter @ manager

Better still, hear her lamentations...and see him driven before you.
It's all good and valid and is a template for what this team lacks in heart and leadership. Most likely. Odd how the highly praised FO totally disagrees with that narrative, though. Yup.
However, if Betts has immediately assumed this role ( which is fine), and sputters out in LA like a Pollack post season performance, what then? They say it's not bragging if you can do it. But...
Like Mr. Wolf said, so eloquently, " let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet".
No matter how many times his appointed cheerleader/s incessantly weigh in on his greatness.

nice attempt to try to make it appear that you're competent and proactive
    and nice fail at both
after completely botching the astros cheating scandal, you decide to go after a practice that's been going on for over 100 years that no one has ever complained about
that's akin to letting a serial killer walk and then giving the death penalty to a jaywalker
to quote ricky roma, "you fucken child!"
what's next, making base coaches stay in the boxes, on deck hitters in the on deck circle?
you want to help baseball?!!!... then punish true offenders that damage the game (hint: astros) and stop manufacturing problems and acting like you're a savior
    and visit an orthodontist

Angels fire visiting clubhouse manager for helping opponents illegally doctor baseballs
by Jack Baer | Yahoo Sports — 5 March 2020

The Los Angeles Angels have fired their visiting clubhouse manager after an internal investigation confirmed allegations that he was providing ball-doctoring substances to opposing pitchers, according to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez. The firing was initially reported by the Los Angeles Times' Maria Torres.

The Angels were reportedly tipped off by Major League Baseball that Brian “Bubba” Harkins allegedly had been providing the sticky substances to improve opponents’ grip on the baseball.

The substance reportedly was a melted-down pine-tar solution and rosin, per ESPN.

Harkins reportedly had been employed by the Angels for more than 30 years, hired in 1981 as a bat boy and returning to the team as clubhouse manager in 1986. Angels president John Carpino confirmed to the Times that Harkins had been fired, but did not divulge the reason.

The Angels reportedly believe that Harkins acted alone in illegally aiding opponents and have not fired other clubhouse attendants.

MLB NOT PLAYING AROUND WITH ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES

The fact that MLB tipped off the Angels is likely the first step in the league’s reported initiative to crack down on pitchers using illegal sticky substances to improve their grip on the ball. The practice has been in use for decades — pretty much since the game’s inception — as a way for pitchers to increase the spin of the ball for more velocity and movement.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer, an outspoken voice about the practice, claimed recently that 70 percent of MLB pitchers today use some sort of substance, calling it “a bigger advantage than steroids.” He has accused the Houston Astros, in particular, in the past, which the team denied.

Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci reported on Monday that MLB put the league’s pitching and coaching staffs on notice with threats of suspensions and firings. While the Angels reportedly fired Harkins on their own, he might be only the first to get the axe this year.
