Do you mean MLB.TV? Yes. There's some good ones for less than 5 bucks /mo. MLB Network is the cable channel with studio shows and live games that are usually borrowed from RSNs
Right. Yes that's what I meant. So I can use the VPN here in LA and it'll come through.... I have some figuring to do for other channels and a DVR but yeah, Spectrum for $240/mo can go FUCK itself!
I have mlb.tv, HBONow, and Hulu Plus. With streaming services you don’t need a DVR, since everything is available all the time. 2 years ago I got NFL Game Pass for $200/year and was able to watch all games live using the location blocker/VPN (if you are in another country you get live NFL games). On top of that I have an antenna to get local stations, but I only use that for local news once in a blue moon, or NFL games if I don’t want league pass.
Congrats too. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. It’s often the hardest step, but once you get going, you just have to keep on moving.
What about cable channels like Discovery, HSN, VH1 and QVC... specifically the ESPN's for F1 races. They are on at all odd hours so I'd need to DVR them, unless they're on demand after the fact?
You'd be SOL on cable channels you intend to watch live or want to record You could get SlingTV or DirectTV Now streaming services, but neither have DVR. Since you like to watch cable channels with the flexibility of live or recordings, you aren't ready for a full cord cut. There are still options to trim your bill though. How many cable boxes do you have? $240 bucks seems like a lot.
I don’t watch any of those channels, so I’m not sure if any of those are available without cable. ESPN, in particular, has been one of the networks holding strong to the cable or nothing model. Most stations have apps now that let you watch TV through the app, but many of them require a cable login to work. I’ve used another person’s login for ESPN and a couple others, but only once in a while - it’s not something I would consider a long term solution. Since you have cable you can login to the ESPN app to see what is available on demand, but I think you are going to have trouble getting those stations without some sort of service to begin with...
I wonder why no posts on S2 of Westworld, there was a veritable plethora of them last year...seemed in everyone's psyche. Season 2, although short on appearances of Thandie's woderful mammaries, is truly exciting and rolling along at breakneck speed, and if you liked Isabel, she's back. I'm glad. For me, the satisfaction of watching the LAD needs some serious supplemental assistance from another source, bigger than shit.
True, dat. You expect to be disappointed by this one and that one. You expect bad streaks offensively and defensively... But I just think no one expected these depths of ineptitude. And certainly not for this long. Does anyone have any idea what the present level of play, unchanged, projects out to?
I think many of us are too old for those type of shows or not old enough for those type of shows right about now. I remember some of my friends who were almost a decade older than me tell me that LOST looks like a great show but that they just can't get into it because it's just a little too much meat for their plate.
been busy so i haven't watched... yet but i have all the episodes on the hbo app just a matter of getting around to it
I appreciate your response and info, but I can't help wondering just what exactly does the "too old/ not old enough" demographic watch then?
it would be nice to rise on up from the fetal position and feel the sun on our faces again, wouldn't it? All we need is the team to rise from their fetal fecal positions.
I'm looking forward to seeing the first few episodes upon my return. Good to hear it's still impressive.
Watch Barry too. Amazingly good. HBO is definitely on a roll. Silicon Valley is also pretty good. But the Dodgers....mal.
Yeah, Barry took an even more dark turn Sunday...Hader is something to watch. I have to admit, Fonzie was an overdone character to me, but Winkler is coming off like an old pro in this, impressive. Terrific.
