glad the Love/Westbrook stories are over now..at least from the Love angle. don't know if he's got an option in the deal..probably does.

Lakers are gonna have to do their usual thing, springing on opportunities through trades because Durant's the only big time FA that's due for 2016 ( not counting the guys who opt out..not sure who they all are at this point) and Durant isn't gonna want to play with a bunch of 19-20-21-22 year olds.

Wow... Better get used to this as the luster of this franchise is starting to become dull. Oh how I miss the good doctor.

I'm as big of a Kobe fan as there is, but no one is going to come play with the Lakers until he's gone, plain and simple. All of our eggs are in Russell's basket for now. We now have Kobe for 1/2 a season (over/under?), a 2nd year rookie that is promising yet unproven, and a bunch of others that would be roll players at best for the top 8-10 teams in the league. Oh boy, i can't wait...

if the west were weaker, the Lakers would have a better shot at these guys. dudes wanna make the playoffs and get those game cheques, brah. and the Lakers were hardpressed to make the playoffs in the west even with Aldridge.

if the Lakers miss the playoffs this next year, i think we'll bid farewell to Kobe for sure because he won't stick around for that..and maybe that's not a bad thing.

Oh except for the facts part of the story... today's tweets indicate that LMA was appreciative of the overall package and felt it focused too much on what the Lakers could do for him outside of basketball and he felt that there was NOT enough focus on the basketball side of things"

    Mike Bresnahan

LaMarcus Aldridge will not be joining the Lakers, The Times has learned. They were a 50-50 choice but he disliked bball part of presentation

As @Mike_Bresnahan says, Aldridge felt too much of Lakers presentation focused on outside opportunities; wanted clearer, better b-ball focus

Lakers didn't make strong impression in Aldridge meeting, sources say. Spurs can close on him. LMA expected to make decision fairly soon.

Sadly, it is already looking like another year of striking out with the FA market. I can still hope for DeAndre Jordan, because he is still young and a good defensive presence(plus it will hurt the Clippers), but at this point, I doubt it.
Get a couple of 2nd tier FA's to short contracts- we will have no draft pick, and hope Kobe retires. Sad how far things have fallen for the Lakers
