So, Raiders pick 4th? could be worse... can still grab Cooper, Williams or Gregory could be there too.

can't wait for next year with hopefully better coaches and more competitive play.

TB and Tennessee 1/2 should both be targeting QB's, if one trades, it is likely to some team (NYJ/Chicago (for Cutler)) that also needs a QB, I'm seeing Mariota and Winston going 1,2. Leaves a very good prospect for Oakland if so.

in a way, i'm glad we're picking 4th and not 3rd. McKenzie likely won't have to choose between Leonard Williams and Randy Gregory. man, that's a tough pick..i don't envy Jacksonville in that #3 spot.

i'll say this as well..hopefully the Jags take Williams @ #3 because Suh will be out there in free agency and Suh can obviously be that interior push for us + Suh-Gregory-Mack would be a better fit for the Raiders considering the nickle package. and then look for a MLB early in the 2nd round. this is all if they add a Cobb in free agency..if that doesn't happen then obviously Amari Cooper becomes of more importance to us @ #4.

black Monday is underway in a major way. Harbaugh to UM is supposedly done. Rex has been fired ( probably our top choice now). Smith in ATL fired. Trestman fired. Davis can win me over if he spends big to sign Rex as HC, Trestman as QB coach, and brings back Sparano in his OL coach role.

we know these 5 things about Rex:

    1) he's a clown.
    2) ( in the same vein as #1) he's the kind of big personality that can help make a lowly product significant and possibly help a LA move happen..the " rock star HC ".
    3) he can coach the hell out of some defense.
    4) players love him and wanna play for him and coincidentally we'll have 60M in cap space after taking care of Wiz II.
    5) he's helped lead teams deep into the playoffs.

If Rex is hired as the Raiders HC, I will no longer have a favorite NFL team until he gets fired.

Hiring any Ryan or bringing back Trestman would be a huge mistake.

    1. Ryan is a dipshit.
    2. Trestman's O needs to be updated.

in non-football related areas, most definitely. not when it comes to X's and O's though. and you can get away with having a dipshit HC in football because there are so many other coaches/players/personalities that can make up for him.

that's the real issue i have with Ryan..that his locker rooms get out of control. if the Raiders hired him they'd always have to have strong leadership in the locker room. they have that now with Woody, Tuck, Carr, Reece, Sparano, etc. but i mean going forward after some of those guys leave, they'd have to replace that presence for it to work. i guess you can say that most winners need great leaders in the locker room in general. if Davis had no plans to continue to secure the locker room with strong leadership, then definitely pass on Rex. it'd be a waste.

QB coach for Trestman..not O-coordinator. Trestman can just go back to doing what he does best. Olson is fine. Carr doesn't need to have a different O-coordinator every year..he needs consistency.

NFL Network panel saying the Raiders are the 2nd best job over the Niners and just below the Falcons ( Matt Ryan).

SF has a younger/tougher division, higher expectations, and they like Carr over Kaepernick..

Raiders must make a good hire this time around now that they have a capable QB, a stud pass rusher, and crazy cap space. to be honest, i wouldn't be mad if they brought Sparano back..Carr could use the continuity. switching HC and O-coordinators every year isn't a good idea with young QB. if it's not one of the better guys, hopefully they do their best to leave that situation alone.

Suh's Lion career might be over already..if he gets suspended for stepping on Rodgers.

I definitely thought it was on purpose. He felt Rodgers under him and made zero effort to get off him. Dirty player.

Rex Ryan shouldn't be a hc imo
He's a great defensive coach who can run a complex 1 gap 3-4 hybrid with creative overload/zone blitzes but, as we saw in his tenure with the jets, he dedicated little resources to the offensive side of the football.

Rex hired his assistants. And they were crap.

The Raiders need an offensive minded HC and one that will keep the respect in the locker room. Also one that won't say stupid shit and run his mouth when your team is crap.

I recall a few years ago when the Raiders HC job was the least desired. People were running from it.

they went to 2 AFC title games.

i disagree. imo, the Raiders need a HC that's not gonna come in and change everything offensively. unless an offensive genius is coming in ( and there aren't any that are available), continuity is what young Carr needs most. a new system means hitting the reset button for Carr. not worth it.

also..win, lose, or draw Rex is gonna say silly stuff..his consistency is part of what players like about him. he's real. it's not a fake or a front. give him a better QB than Sanchez and he might have a SB ring right now as a HC. 4-2 record in the playoffs with Sanchez at QB.

Missing on Harbaugh was a huge blow for the franchise. Looks like the cycle will continue with us hiring a questionable coach who will be canned in 2-3 years.

Harbaugh reportedly took the UM job because he thinks his style of coaching won't wear on his players as much over 3-4yr periods and then they'll be gone. dude knows his faults i suppose.

i don't know about that cycle you're talking about though..there are other good candidates and the Raiders have a QB and cap space this time around. and of course the bar isn't set as high as other places, so that's a positive as well. the only real drawback is the funky ass stadium that they'll be playing in next year.

Why are you guys on Randy Gregory more than Shane Ray? Ray seems much quicker, much more athletic than Gregory.

i like Ray too. he's gonna be good, imo. his upside just is not as high as Gregory's. Gregory is basically like if Megatron decided to play DE/OLB..he's a super-freak. not that it's a guarantee to translate in a bigger way than Ray's talent will, but Gregory's getting the higher draft grade from most outlets. some mocks have the Titans taking Gregory 2nd over Winston. he pops on the game film in a ridiclous way..running down WR's and RB's from 10-15yds back and that kind of stuff. incredible athlete.
