Dwight Howard is the biggest pu**y in the NBA. He has all the physical attributes and athleticism you can ask for, but a 2 cent head with 1 cent being discounted.

He is now responsible for, or played a significant role in, the firings of Stan Van Gundy, a coach that led him to an NBA final, Mike Brown, who had a decent 1st season with the Lakers, and now Kevin McHale.

They guy is Charmin....soft as soft can be, and now the injury bug is getting to him.

He could be the best pick and roll guy ever. He was on a team that had Kobe Byrant and Pau Gasol. But he wanted to be a back to the basket post up guy, where his weak hands got exposed.....turnover, turnover, turnover....

The Rockets deserve to flame out. Oh, and I'm getting sick of that ugly azz beard on Harden.

Imagine if this 15pts/10reb Dwight Howard had stayed with the Lakers. Around the clock madness.

His career may indeed flame out in Houston. There is no future contract out there for him anywhere close to what he's getting. He will become that journeyman player looking for a team to latch onto for 1 championship run.

I hope he never achieves it either.

Maybe Dwight knew he was gonna be less of a force and that's why he left?? He'll definitely get somewhat of a pass in Houston...that shit wouldn't stand with the Lakers.

    the true self-serving prick emerges
    next year???
we appreciate all you've done for this great organization and you'll always be a laker
but if you want to know why your team is doing so poorly... :mirror:.336 field goal pct

there comes a time in every great player's career where they can no longer perform like they once did
    everyone sees it
but sometimes the player himself does not
    and that's the case here

and the threat of you coming back year is more than enough ammunition to proceed with tanking v 2.0

What are Lakers fans going to do when Jim Bust hires Kevin McHale as HC next season?

many decent players that are volume scorers have shitty fg%
im less concerned with his percentages than i am with how well he can adjust to being a point forward since all our pg's have serious flaws
clarkson is a sg with some pg skills
    huertas has old nash legs
russell has to learn how to play pg in the league still and grow into his body
lou williams is also a slasher with some pg skills that he had to learn because he isnt big enough to be a sg
kobe might have to play point forward for half of his minutes on the floor and average 7 assists a night for the team to be better
or trade russell, young, bass and randle to the kings for cousins and either collison or rondo then go for broke on getting kobe some more trips to the playoffs
then in the future we have cousins to build around and attract FA like Durant.

    pg: rondo, lou williams, huertas
    sg: clarkson, anthony brown
    sf: kobe, metta
    pf: metta, nance, ryan kelly
c ; cousins, hibbert, tarik black

thats a team with some decent defensive prospects, i would like to see how metta would do as a charles barkley type player at pf
it might elongate his career and let him be out there throwing screens for kobe as his enforcer

nick young shot 36 percent last year and he's still around
ricky rubio is still a 30% shooter and only a 15% from the 3 and everyone says he is great.
lots of nba players hover around the 40 percent mark and are still considered star players
45% is considered all star caliber player for a swingman these days
we judging kobe on how he was as a great player, but that doesnt mean he still cant be a good player or at least a decent player
if he can be as good or better than a lou williams he still deserves to be on the team if he wishes
    hes better than nick young
if kobe shot less 3 pointers he would be at over 40 percent
but somebody has to shoot them to give the big men some room
all the other laker guards are slasher guys that take up space in the lane

I knew the retirement talk was merely a wait and see if I can't squeeze out another 20 shot per game, 33% shooting and 10% from 3 pt range with 10 attempts per game type of season.....oh but with the chance to make the playoffs because of a more talented team....strategy.

He's not gonna make through this year, and I wished Scott had the balls to tell him he has to facilitate now, keep it to 10 shots, 1 or 2 well timed 3 point attempts and more talking on defense to get help.

But Scott won't. So Kobe will probably get injured my the All-Star break.

I recall an interview with Kevin McHale talking about Magic and Bird....how much they dominated a game with just 12 shots, 10 rebounds and 10 assists....and be the best players on the court by far. Too bad we're missing that right now.

Clips being the Clips....all talk, bluster, flash, and posing, with a coach that just can't deal with a lead in a game or in a series......panic city with more blister than the players and playing favors to get his son on the team.

Again, the Clips being the Clips.

yeah scott's just trying to keep his head above water
i'm guessing kobe leads the practices as much as [if not, more than] scott
and the coaches/players et al cower in reverence... of what he once was
    and therein lies the problem...
he's like that chick that used to be hot in high school but turned into a sow
guys still try to get on her because of what she represented to their youth (made that mistake myself)
but like the emperor's new clothes, we all need to wake up -- kobe is naked... um, of his skills

Kobe still got the ability to teach these kids how to be ruthless.
Clarkson has improved a lot and I don't doubt that Kobe has had a huge hand in that.

I wouldn't be surprised if clarkson becomes a better defender in the off season. He is showing that he has the determination to work on his game adding new facets not just small improvents.
    That's reminiscent of Kobe.
