    We have a decent chance, but if I were to put a number to it, id say it is less than a 50 pct chance of keeping that pick( I believe like 60pct chance we keep the pick if we come in 2nd worst,) and a worse chance of getting simmons imo. Philly is just too shitty.

    Did Kobe help us win that game? I couldn't tell. Can't believe he hasn't completely imploded yet playing all those minutes. Loving randle on the boards.

    Right now, we have about a 19% chance of getting the #1 pick. Keeping the pick is somewhere around 60% I believe. That ain't little to none.

    60% doesn't sound right unless you are assuming we will be the worst team at the end of the year. Even then, the chips didn't fall in place for either NY or Philly last year.

    Look, I'd love to get Simmons, don't get me wrong. But I'm not holding out any hope of further draft miracles to pull us out of this quagmire.

    Once Kobe, his salary, and dominating personality are gone, we may attract a big FA in a year or two. But hitting the draft jackpot isn't the right way to wish our way back to decent team status let alone a playoff caliber team.

    There is no " right way " or certain path you must take.
    Teams have won using different paths, including the one you're talking about there.
    The draft is set up to help teams that suck, not issue miracles.
    Anthony Bennett is no miracle.
    Simmons would obviously be great, but the Lakers can use any of the top 3 draft prospects, all 3 are SFs

    Who are we better than? In the western conference, I would say we are the worst. In the east, we maybe better than Phili but that is about it.
    So we are definitely in play for top 3 pick

    Right now we have a 55% chance or better to keep our pick if we fall in the bottom 2 worst records, which I think is very realistic. That's certainly not no chance.

    We might not be able to get Simmons, but any of the top 3 prospects would help us a lot.
