Great point. Not only do the city and team cultures along with a migrant fan base make for an intriguing match, but the impending legal battle between the NFL and the Davis family would be so Raiders as well.

And that Deandre sat there and just watched it all, maybe Testi is a lil shit talker and had it comin. Dunno

IMO, there had to be more to it than that.
Maybe that took it past the breaking point, or maybe not.

Now word that Spanos is not planning to move to LA in 2016 and is working on a new stadium in San Diego.

Now I'm confused if that means he still keeps his 1 year option to change his mind, or if he is officially forfeiting it.

If the latter, the Raiders in LA is still in play.

He hasn't forfeited his option. Still has until 2017. If the Raiders come, that means Dean gets a stadium deal in SD before February of next year.

If Raiders go to another city not LA they will lose big time.
Todays remaining Raider fan in LA may have Ram fans for sons.
And as the Rams build up and retake the LA market the Raiders fan will lose dominance.
The Raiders brand nationwide will never recover.
Now that the Rams are back in LA the Raiders must find a way back or else will lose this market and a large part of their fanbase in the coming generation.

I was probably 30% with him until he said " nationwide ", that was my stop.
Raiders are in the group of iconic brands that go beyond the field of play, beyond " market ", beyond the sport itself to varying degrees.
But even regarding fans in LA, just check the social media standings, Raiders are always among the 10 most followed franchises in the sport regardless.
Now, being that LA is mostly chic, if they move and re-brand, meaning lose the colors, lose the iconic shield/emblem, lose their historical significance to the league and culture in general, or lets just say they lose their " cool ", OK then I could see it at that point.
They wouldn't even be " The Raiders " anymore.

Take this into account as well, LA has a ton of casual and fair-weather fans, transplant city.
I love my people, I do, but it is what it is..if the Rams are losing ( which they've done a lot of under Kroenke), and the Raiders are winning while the fan base is still ever-present in LA..well, then you know what that means.
    Bandwagon city.
Rams jerseys go in the closet and Raiders jerseys come out, you know it and I know it.
But part of what makes San Diego so attractive to the Raiders..OC, Riverside, SanBern, proximity to LA.
Same can be said for Vegas in regards to proximity, which the Raiders would also earn extreme cool points for if that long shot were to happen.
However, if they should ever lose the LA fan..Raider Nation still lives on in a big way.

Chargers not to do a Clippers move and join the Rams in Inglewood as co-tenants!!! Too lazy to look so I hope this is not old news.

    No, bro.
    No. Lol
    Yeah, you're late.
Spanos released a statement, is now turning to negotiations with San Diego and they now have the NFL's money helping lubricate a deal for a stadium.
It's looking like the Chargers have a decent shot at staying in SD for the long term, so not necessarily joining the Rams and playing " Clips "
Even though I hate that analogy because that'd mean the Rams are the Lakers and we know that ain't true

Historically no the Rams aren't the Lakers but this version of the Lakers are worse than the Rams.

    No, bro.
Lakers are terrible on the court...still sold out last night's game, not skipping town anytime soon.
Don't get it twisted...Lakers remain the 6th most valuable sports franchise on God's green Earth.
    Rams nowhere near.

The Rams were Hollywood royalty and a huge draw for decades before they started playing in Anaheim and the Raiders swooped into the Coliseum during the rise of NWA. Then moving halfway across the country.

When the original AFL Chargers played in LA, the Rams were selling out the Coliseum while the Chargers were drawing WNBA sized crowds and had to move. It was truly an NFL Lakers/Clippers situation.

As far as current value goes, the Rams are reported to be the third most valuable team in the NFL immediately upon arrival. When their new stadium opens, I'd imagine they will be the most valuable franchise in the NFL.

Los Angeles wasn't even a Laker town until after the 80s lol. Magic Johnson himself said that even during showtime, the Dodgers still had the front page.

Right now the Clippers are more valuable than both of those teams.
