He's screwed the rest of the team so many times in the post I guess it evens out.

All kidding aside..It is annoying that his earned run average balloons because the defense can't come through. It happened a couple of starts ago where he should have been out of the inning but two runs ended up coming across the plate. It is especially annoying when a reliever inherits the runners and gives it up.

As for the "W", I couldn't care less as long as the team gets it.

Pitchers are no longer paid or withheld from accolades because of individual wins.

Popeye the Urias' big sin wasn't the Harper HR, it was hitting Segura in front of him.

If anything can make up for this pen it's quality starting pitching and needless to say they're getting that.

Could see in that at bat that he appeared to be locked in. Kept throwing the same pitch over and over, then threw the one unimpressive FB and that was it. Could tell Smith realized it wasn’t over powering enough and he could just sit on the breaker and foul off the FB if he needed to. Great AB and that could be a huge momentum boost for the kid.

I’ve heard this too. I would think A. Money matters and B. I would sell it to him like this, “we know that when you have too much time between appearances, you can get a bit out of sync. In the playoffs, we will not let you go more than 2 days between appearances, if that’s what you want. Make yourself look as valuable as possible going into the 2020 offseason and help us win a WS.” I honestly think the last two playoffs where he wasn’t viewed as godlike kinda hurt his stock. Give him the chance to enhance his stock and maybe he also goes ring chasing this year.

I hope so. Kimbrel and Hand/Vasquez would be a game changer.

Not to be Debby Downer, but how good would this team be with better BP help? I’m not talking about SP with a bunch of aces...I mean reliable yeoman BP with good 8th inning guys that can pitch the 9th if asked.

I know not every situation calls for that, but the Dodgers would be invincible if their BP wasn’t so shaky.

Would be nice if some of those possible solutions were in the system.

I don't think a team, say similar to the LAD in '88, likely to win the WS in the near future. Of course, the odds some team does is not a total impossibility, but unlikely.
If we go into this year's post with the belief that we can win with the status quo, which is entirely possible indeed, we are pissing into the wind.
With "super" teams like the Astros and Yanks, maybe one or two more, we'll need to match, on paper at least, these opponents bp. The offense can stay with most, imo, but relief is definitely not just a swallow away.
Our bp has a unique " ability " to immediately give the opportunity to the other team in a flash...in a nanosecond or minute. Like last night. Like Kelly. Like Floro lately... like Ferguson. Like...take your choice.
That sure won't play well in the post.
