i think there are plenty of people that are just fine being losers under your definition
anyone can sit back and complain about being held back
but look at wave after wave of immigrants that come here and are willing to work their asses off never asking for anything
latinos have classically been some of the hardest working of all
but that dynamic is changing as they too buy in to the whole handout lifestyle
typically they work for cash as well and truly exploit the system to the max
but hey everyones doing it right?
and most everyone is because its free money why not?
told an indian merchant at a liquor store i would be using my ebt card to buy a beer one night
same family thats been in this store for years, they own 3 of them in the valley
we quickly talk about how easy an ebt is to come by and the son and the mother both strongly disagree because they both have tried multiple times
when i say i know your family owns this store amongst others and why would they need it i am told "why not its free money"
and they said they don't make enough
last time i bought a thing from them
but the system is just to easy to bilk and everyone knows it

I know plenty of successful people without 'faith'
Lots of success comes from living without or overcoming not having family
and we all know stories of billionaires without a formal education

Now don't get me wrong, having all four is a good thing but by no means are Faith, Family or Education required, the ONLY pillar of ALL successful persons is Personal Responsibility.

Of course one might suggest that the Office of POTUS was just had with ZERO Personal responsibility provided enough lies were spread and enough dissent fomented so I'll just go sit down now

 

If you graduate high school, find a job and don't have kids before you're married there is a 2 percent chance you will end up living in poverty. The breakdown of the American family is an enormous domestic issue.

 

Slicing stats might show 'some' bright spot but there are myriad factors in play several of which no one has the stones to even discuss let alone address.

A high school grad won't have much of a job for very long
A college grad with anything but a STEM degree won't last much longer
The flattening of entire industries is happening far faster than before
even if Singularity is still a ways away

 

I'm talking about the bare MINIMUM to not live in poverty. Obviously it requires far more to ascend to the middle class and beyond. Then again, I see people without jobs with two cars, a dog, Disneyland passes, etc so what do I know.

everyone that wants it gets it especially the destitute street people who will gladly trade it for drug money
how obvious is it that this would set up an underground commodity market where people buy a $200 card for $100 and sell it for whatever market bears
anyone w half a brain knows that a $200 card has a street value of X
i have personally witnessed people in my neighborhood use those (you have to look close since it gets swiped like a cc now)
don't want any stigma w people getting free stuff do we?
and then get into a new lexus, bmw etc. and drive away
there is ZERO incentive or trigger for reporting abuse
just the photo requirement would vastly destroy that market but nooooooo can't have that its racist

my buddy who's still a general contractor and i use to laugh all the time about finding a job
we had to find a fucking job every single day
im still a general in license but don't really use it much
but i owe much of what i learned and who i met
the fact that you are out in the world is an actual education all its own
and you see what doors are open and which are closed pretty quick
thats true street smarts along w my time as a young street urchin
its rare, if ever, that i meet young people willing to work that hard
you have to channel your inner hustler and start somewhere
but anymore its like its owed to you and the attitudes are absurd
that world dgaf about what you are or what you believe in
