A simple truth ignored by both Left and Right.
We've had decades to address this issue and BOTH sides shun it yet average Americans agree that countries need borders
and then you go down the 'blame game' worm hole thinking/stating that it is 'the other guy' preventing it.
Perhaps you might inquire which Bush 'ever' did anything about a border?

Channeling my inner @rube .. you seem to think that one side will actually 'do' anything about this. Yeah, about that notion.. it isn't like both sides haven't had plenty of chances to do 'something' and yet here we are. John Q. Public thinks that a border wall/fence is a good idea. Those bought and paid for 535 in DC?? Not so much.

Of course lost in the entire conversation was the fact that the GOP budget is the largest proposed deficit in history, with the largest military budget in history adding to the largest US debt in history. What happened to the GOP being the party of fiscal restraint? LOL

    Liars one and all

By doing what? Oh just raising the debt ceiling again. As if 'that' were a solution

    Idiots one and all

It's been a bipartisan problem for 20 years. It's a left problem in this very moment.

It's a Left problem solely because you wish to describe it as a Left problem
Let's not overlook that the GOP runs both the White House and the Senate so blaming the Left is rather disingenuous

Of course, to be fair, it's difficult to claim the the GOP, or even rational reasoning, runs Trump

My experience is the city council members tend to be quite corrupt too. Usually they are in bed with real estate developers who want a little help getting their latest project through.

City zoning laws exist to solicit bribes from developers.

those council members are card carrying members of densa programmed to steal
i think it should be required of eligible voters to spend a day in chambers to witness the slow lazy bizarre daily circus
and if you have business you just get to witness it grind its citizens up because it can

Apparently Jimmy Kimmel called GoFundMe donors (for the border wall) "dopey, meth addicts" on his show.

He can say whatever he wants, I suppose.

Somehow I think if a late night host called a bunch of donors to transgender causes "Mentally ill, _____ addicts" there would be a different reaction.

If the government does not want to perform one of its few basic duties, people will take matters into their own hands and it's pretty cool that many individuals are willing to put money into it. It's a positive story and sets a good example.

Kimmel was never funny, so no real loss there.
Colbert and Mhaer (who is criminally unfunny) have always preferred to be viewed as intellectuals and regardless of party affiliation I cant laugh with someone who thinks they're smarter than everyone else in the room.
Conan is funny. I never watch his show but when I catch a clip or something he usually makes me laugh.

i liked colbert on the daily show but on the network he's dull and contrived
maher is obviously a smart guy, but he's a pompous ass
i like conan too, but kimmel, fallon and seth myers are all meh
loved carson and letterman because they never dodged a topic and would rip any- and everyone regardless of status or political affiliation

    What basic duties.
I'm confused here. Are you mad Kimmel of man show and juggies fame said something demeaning of people who gave money to some non gov official to do with it what he wilt?
Or is if you think it's a basic duty to erect the next great Wall of China or the Berlin Wall.
Let me know how it worked out for those people.
And BTW the rank and file Chinese are actually mostly of Mongol mixed ancestry. Cuz walls only work for a season. Eventually the barbarians still get in. No matter how high the gate.

I said in my post that Jimmy Kimmel can say whatever he wants.
However, his industry's double standard on "hate speech" carries consequences.

One of the very few things our government is actually supposed to do is protect the sovereignty of the U.S. There's a contingent on both sides of the aisle who are not prioritizing that duty for political purposes (seemingly, as many of those opposed to approving funding for a physical barrier were not so opposed before D.T. took office...taking them only at their word).

If you want to make the argument that a wall would not be effective or economically viable, that's an argument I'd listen to. Unfortunately, that debate has never occurred in sincerity. Instead, as usual, it's a moral argument. Those who want border security are "dopey meth addicts".

Nothing has worked for 30 years. So I'm down to try D.T's way.

    Wall will make it worse.
Too much private land that cant be walled.
    Private militia will patrol.
    The wall is politics.
It is there to pull aggro from the mob. I'm using MMORPG terms.
Trump is the wall tank commander.
