Even your posts don't believe it!
You got too much beauty in your life to believe any of that.
    Just like Han Solo.
    It's a front.
There is no future in your front.

    The future its coming on.
    But it's intangible.
    Maybe mystical or spiritual.
    Definitely essential.
    And it's coming from behind.
    Check your six.
Use that brown eye for something else.
So you can survive when law is lawless.
You know where all the rats going?
    Where they feel safe.
Same place all the racist cops are going to in response to the police purges in liberal states.
    Remember the Alamo?
    Member?

    Is that a promise.
I change my mind all the time.
    There and back again.
    Keeps it fresh.
    So that don't trouble me.
If you compel me to change my mind then you done your job.
The only thing I don't want to hear and won't hear is if you say stop, its too dangerous, there's too many of them, it's a trap.

I mean, it's been bad before. We've had POTUS's assassinated. We had a civil war. We've had major protests before. Not to say what's happening now isn't bad, but I'd say there have definitely been other bad times.

Social media and cable news programming is the new big factor in it all. It can bring out the worst in us. I'd argue another big component leading up to all of this has been the Tea Party's take over of the Republican Party, but I know most people in here don't want to hear about it. The Republican Party has pushed more to the right, inevitably opening the door for the Democratic Party to push more to the left.

In the end, and I've said this before, I just want universal healthcare. It's done in a lot of other countries and it would be a huge step forward in improving what is, in the end, a pretty great country. I think if the universal healthcare opponents spent half the time they do telling me why it won't work, on figuring how to make it work, this would have been done 20 years ago. I've seen how the current system has affected even the small circle of people I know, in life altering ways. We can do better.

    the Tea party?
i can't even recall the last time i've heard the term
although liberals love to point at Charlottesville like its the OKC of terrorism
yeah you have one example and a questionable one at that
witnesses said the crowd was encircling the car just like a thousand images we see daily
but for every Charlottesville there are hundreds of Portlands and Seattles w insane destructive leftists
you own anitfa and blm and every marxist organization of note
    tea party lmao

If you believe Pew research (or 538), the Republican Party has barely moved over that last 25 years, but the Democratic Party has shifted significantly to the left.
It's probably not realistic to attribute a large shift from one party as a reactionary response to a comparatively smaller shift from the other party.

The main issues typically associated with the Tea Party were
    fiscal responsibility,
    limited government,
    constitutional originalism, and
    US Soverignty.

The republican party (at best) only partially embraces the last one.
The first three are totally out the window.
So not sure how you can say the Tea Party took over the republican party.

We are not going through dick
We are being manipulated by a foreign power
This aint anything like what we have experienced before
I wasnt there but I was there in spirit
I have all the books. not just from our side
    This is not politics
    This is war
And its way worse than the cold war
    This is real
And we can win it before another bomb is dropped on a third party

So the study that the graph was pulled from is a good read: http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-co...47/10-05-2017-Political-landscape-release.pdf

The composite of the 1994 chart and 2017 is a bit bullshit since the study also published a 2004 chart which is very similar looking to the 1994 chart, but with everything shifted dramatically to the left. If you overlay the 2004 chart with the 2017 chart, it looks a lot more like both parties have had the same shift.

I nerded out on the charts in the original study. Depending on the issue you can see where the shifts have happened. With government assistant and immigration, the shift is on the Democratic side. With government regulation, environment, and global warming the shift has been on the Republican side. A lot of the other issues had similar shifts or shifts with no patterns. 2008, 2012, and 2016 seemed to be the years with most shifts.

The fiscal shifts from 2008 forward coincide with the Tea Party theories. Whether inspired by a huge recession, or Democratic POTUS and Congress I’m not sure, but it’s a very real thing that the Tea Party increased their voice starting in 2008. I’ve been involved with “resistance” efforts since 2016, and they literally take the Tea Party playbook to get as big of a voice from a small number of people.

In the end, I may be off by saying the “right started it” but I feel safe in saying both sides are enabled by the other. The center has moved left, that’s a thing that has happened throughout the world the past 25 years. There are no points for being stuck in 1994. At least the US moved left with them for the first 10 years.

Yep. Tea Party. I’m not saying the Republican Party needs to own it necessarily, but that they have influenced the party. BLM has had a huge impact on the Democratic Party as well. And I’d say Trump has had a bigger impact on the Democratic Party than the Republican Party, if that makes sense.

yeah Trump has had a uuuuuge impact on the democrats since orange man bad and that's all that matters
they wanted to impeach him before he was sworn in and have spent every waking moment since then doing everything but the business of the people
i noticed you didn't mention antifa as being weaponized from the left which it clearly is
the message this year is elect a lib or the violence will continue
and the blm message ( i know you approve not sure why) seems to bring special attention to race which is such an awesome divider of people
maybe you feel you have something to apologize for i have no idea
i just feel its moving backward to constantly give rise to this type of politics
150 years ago many of my irish ancestors laid their lives down to free the slaves, pretty sure the chinese were slaves as well
think we'll see CLM? maybe FLM for filipinos or MLM for mexicans?
doubtful since those cultures have been busy moving forward instead of laying blame and listening to white liberals telling them they can't
not sure how you see a tea party measuring up to that lot
what's different about you is that you have a great sense of humor
something severely lacking in nearly every other liberal i know these days
nothing changes just like it doesn't w the libs in my family
just gets harder to understand how you support the violence or at least pretend not to notice
health care for all is one thing
group think for all is another thing altogether
    i know racist

    People hate blacks.
People hate darker people of their own kind.
You can't get away from that.
    It's an inconvenient truth.
    Only Jesus can cure racism.
But till that happens no one will.
You don't toot your own horn though.
You don't butter your own bread.
The best way to help blacks is not to make it about black people.
    Make it about poor people.
Most of the blacks will be included there.
Only the middle class and rich blacks will be left out.
But they only a tiny minority.
And they run the black cultural narrative.
    That they told to run.

Holy shit...I just made a post in another thread, and wrote " remember the Alamo"...
    and now I'm reading yours.
I don't know how to feel over that- what to come away with from it.
I think maybe overwhelming, decimating fear is about right.
    Well..let everything happen to you...

To be fair, most people don’t have a sense of humor with politics. So if you discuss politics you won’t see someone’s sense of humor, and that’s probably rightfully so. There’s nothing funny about political issues for either side. What is good about this place is that most of us have known each other for 10+ years, so we know more about each other than just politics.

I didn’t mention Antifa because I don’t know much about them or there influence on the Democratic Party policy.

I don’t support violence anymore than you support police violence.

I think Trump is bad at his job, I think he’s genuinely a bad person, and he whines way too much. I could write a book on it, but I don’t want to take the time and no one really wants to read it anyway.

Nafta, Iraq war, Iran nuclear deal...
