I defer to your local expertise...then they should have been beaten severely.
Imo, it's like bb players throwing humps at each other...it's just wrong.

Throws too many pitches deep into the ground, also. I thought I was watching Charlie Sheen for a minute.

McCarthy: This is going to be the shortest interview I've ever given, because I just have no answers.

    I do....you suck.

    OK...I didn't know the rules...whatevs.

Whatever Dave is doing, it's working...so far.
People said the same about DBB, but, imo, DBB had far more than DR has now. JoTo, too. Way more...if DR brings it, with this stupid starting pitching, MoY, in my world.
Which ever way he gets it done, agree or not with his methodology, he is getting it done.
The proof is where the team winds up though, so we'll see.

Yup, still plenty of ball left but the fact is that even beyond the in game moves, this team has had success and still fought hard meanwhile losing ridiculous amounts of high quality players to injury. Many times this year you could think that the team would just be way too deflated. Losing Kershaw, entire starting rotations, bullpen pieces, the outfield, etc. goin on losing streaks, losing some brutal games... But they've remained competitive and had little drama outside of Puig which looks like it's a Puig thing not a manager thing

As for his in game moves, I think most of them are rational. Lots that we're going to question but, I trust Honeycutt as much as anyone and I bet Honeycutt is heavily involved in pitching staff moves. Roberts does seem to pull starters early but I actually think that it's been good. Better to get them out earlier then after the game gets out of hand.

All in all, I personally don't think a manager can change much as far as season long results go but Roberts seems to be doing a lot of things that are enjoyable and good for the team

Tbh, I don't get, never did get, and never will get, people who don't think a manager can change much for a team over a season...beyond my comprehension, I guess.
Especially in the NL, where they, at least for now, play real baseball.

Idk I just think at the end of the day, it's up to the players first And foremost. Managers obviously do affect things but I don't think there's a significant difference across the league between the moves they make. I do think Roberts makes moves better then most managers. I guess it's just hard to tell ya know, and most of the important stuff they do goes behind the scenes
