Our rotation is about to collapse and our bullpen is gassed from overuse. We need reinforcements quickly. Even if we are playing crappy teams, we need help. The pitching staff may have nothing left by September. Kershaw and Hill have to get back and perform.
Urias has to go 6 plus innings. And we might think about bringing up another minor leaguer for relief help. Just need to get over the hump until mid September and hope some Hill, Kershaw and Norris and the rest get healthy.
Whether Grandal is doing good or not, I would've liked Lucroy. Just a great all around hitter and player. Would've went right into the middle of the lineup. Yeah, Grandal is younger but damn Lucroy is good.
Anderson is pitching a rehab start tomorrow that might be his last. It's not exciting or anything but he could be back by the end of next week
I like Grandal tbh. Think he's finally healthy and taking visibly better AB's than earlier in the year. He should honestly probably be hitting 4th or 5th against RHP too. Agree with the bullpen point though, these guys are going like every day, I'm concerned on how likely they are to perform deep into October. Also it's all irrelevant if Kershaw doesn't come back.
Thing with Grandal is that he always makes hard contact. Has been towards the top of the league in exit velocity the last two seasons (top 30). He appears to have a better approach now and is seemingly healthy. Joc is another player who makes hard contact and is always towards the top as well (T25). If he can utilize a better approach and somehow make contact he can be pretty great offensively

Do you mean with Chavez? I think if you got the results he did yesterday from him, quite good actually, then you thank Kromm for his mercy, and put the LH in against their hitters. Didn't work so well with Avilan, mind you, but Dave is a by- the-book guy mostly always, so no surprise. Sometimes, he does seem a bit quick, but I'm thinking that's his style. Hook or by crook, it's by the book...like even taking Segedin out on the double switch after what he did at the plate; Dave is pretty predictable.
