Rubby is gonna end up a solid #2 and people are gonna hate him for that, lol But really, I'm fucking stoked but let's be realistic here. An ace is extremely hard to tag on player, I mean REALLY rough. Nothing wrong with saying he has a great chance of being a fucking good pitcher, but an ace is a rarer term to throw out than that. He of course has a chance cause he flashed that #1 stuff, but he's still someone coming back from injury and again, nothing wrong with him being a #2/#3. You develop that, and it's fucking awesome. But you can't say Oh for sure he's gonna be a #1. So, expectations should be he's gonna flash great stuff and hopefully come back as a damn good pitcher.
They are keeping Jamey because he can go long innings especially when Blanton gets shelled his next start.
1, 3, and 4 (when Dre hits 4th) are the ones who need to get their shit together, they are making the huge bucks to stink it up. Shane is supposedly our set-up and Dre and Matty are the "run producers".
whereas Crawford went down just in time re Rubby... he could become Pedro Martinez... or Pedro Astacio no way of telling same with Webster with Loney, Sands and DeJesus, Boston knows what they're getting... very little, other than salary relief happy for Sands though... maybe for now he could get some DH platoon time with Big Papi
