    Another one bites the dust.
Since Greinke, we have been getting our asses whupped, whether it's been Ned or the infallible nerd FO of now, on players we were really in on. Evidently, playing for Dodgers, although semingly attractive as hell on the surface, and so "wealthy" as we all believe, is not enough to land what have been deemed the brass ring. Of course, it will follow that we weren't really that interested by PR spin doctors, I'm sure in the near future.
Whatever , whoever is pushing the buttons is a dollar short and a day late.. I'm not saying they haven't made some clever "on the surface" pssible signings, but, honestly, is losing out on phenoms like this is counteracted by becoming the Oakland Raiders of BB now, with reclamation projects? Maybe; we'll see.
Well, we're saving money for Stan and the boys, I guess.
I'm wondering what the deal is if we play out our usual status as we do on a seasonal basis....good team, get to the post, fall apart like a cheap suit, next year.
    Boy, this is getting old.
For crissakes, they (we did, too) had Moncada in our lineup already.
    Adios, Yoan!

By the way, I'm not saying all the minions we signed, or the millions we've spent on these oft injured but one-time talented players is all garbage...some may work very well. I certainly hope so. And if I prayed, I'd do that too.
But we are dealing with volume here, and I guess there is some comfort and strength in numbers. But I don't think there is anyone who truly believes that they all will show up, or be there top shelf when/if we need them. And we will, at some point, need some of them.
It's true, potential doesn't win it. It's nice, it's a warm feeling and all that shit, but it doesn't a championship team ensure.
    Yoda told me that.
And for the potential freaks ut there, who had more than Yoan?

@EephusBlue It would've been a Lopez-Moncada daily double. They'd have gotten their money's worth. Weren't going to do it for just one guy

So we can blame the Dbags for not signing Moncada. Apparently not doubling up on Lopez/Alvarez made it not worth it. fucking stupid if you ask me.

What was Moncada's agent thinking??? Pedroa is at 2nd, Panda at 3rd for the foreseeable future and the OF is crowded and Big Papi still growing strong. Have seen so many reports that he isn't good enough to play short either. The Sox don't have pitching coming up through the minors to my knowledge and a couple of good young Cuban pitchers are out there and now they can't sign them. As for us I'm really disappointed! !!!

Kid (and his agent) will be paid regardless.

If Moncada is as legit as they think he will be, room will be made. It's likely he won't even make it to the show next year. That's plenty of time for Papi to possibly retire, Pablo to first if Napoli doesn't come back, or DH, they move Betts and Xander around and Moncada plays third.

It all depends on how big on the rebuild they are. They could trade someone for pitching, or say fuck the rules and sign another Cuban pitcher.

Don't like the outlook of our team as much anymore. I like the fluid-ness of our roster but if you don't have top tier young talent to plug into this infield other than Seager this isn't turning out how I hoped it would.

Get ready to re sign Kendrick and Rollins. Ugh.

Also, although their farm has depth, they aren't very strong at the top. The coveted catcher is their guy..now they add Moncada to that. Good for Boston, but Lol @ the Yankees.

As a result, neither Rollins nor Kendrick have to look over their shoulder..yet. They don't have to feel like they're already replaced going into the season..unless we sign Olivera..then its a wrap for somebody and soon.

Uribe likely in an immediate capacity..but ultimately Rollins as well because it'd close the door completely on " Seager @ 3B/Rollins 1yr extension ".

Everything I have heard and read is that Seager is going to be a shortstop. Until they start playing him at 3B in ST or AA I have no reason to believe that'll change. Scouts and Dodger people are only growing more convinced that he can play shortstop. Get that offense from a premium position.

Swihart, Owens, now Moncada. Not bad. They can have an everyday lineup eventually that is:
    DH Hanley
    1B Sandoval
    2B Pedroia
    SS Boegarts
    LF ?
    CF Betts
    RF Castillo
    C Swihart

Same here, but that still doesn't mean that they can't tell Rollins otherwise and keep a potential extension dangling in front of him as incentive. If Olivera is signed they can't even do that much.
