yea, opting out of 7yrs/218M..31M a year @ the age of 30..that's tough. sure, we don't know how much loot the best guys will be paid 6yrs from now, but that's still a shit load of money for a 30yr old.

i think it's much more likely that a fire-sale happens mid-way through his 1st 6yrs, Stanton gives them a small list of teams to negotiate trades with, and he eventually elects to play out the rest of his current contract. i mean what are the chances that he'll score 40M a year 6yrs from now?..what are the chances that he's even that good at that point?..and then what are the chances that anybody gives up a ton of prospects to get him just for him to turn around and leave?

he'll probably have to give a commitment, or if he wants more money, agree to restructure his deal - just to be traded. it's crazy, but Loria is somethin else, man. Lol i can't believe Loria was that irresponsible. and big ups to the Pirates' president for calling Loria out. Loria should be made to sell that team.

in fact, maybe this is it..maybe this will start the " Jeter for owner " movement in Miami and within MLB..because there's some buzz about Jeter buying the Marlins and i think baseball would love the fuck out of that.

yea, this hypo where they keep Ethier is waste of time. they're gonna clear his salary off the books. i mean they went out and got Heisey for a reason. they'll find somewhere to dump Ethier..maybe to our Halo pals for a rally monkey.

 

When you consider the fact that Ned Traded so many away prior to your purchase, there wasn't a lot to choose from so the rebuilding process was stymied (if you're reading, no pun intended Juan).

but what you can also take away from Kasten's comments there is that they're gonna give Joc every opportunity to win that job and Kasten's literally hoping that he does.
