Updated World Series odds By Grant Brisbee | SB Nation Hot Corner It's time for the semi-weekly World Series and pennant odds update. These odds are provided by the good folks at Bovada, and they're a window into the future. If you're poor, here's a good way to get rich! Now, usually the odds are with the casinos and bookmakers when you bet on sports. No, no, it's true. I read it on Wikipedia years ago. But follow my logic here: Either the Rangers or A's will win the West, which gives one of them a 1-in-8 shot at the World Series. The other one has to go to the play-in Wild Card game, which gives them a 50-percent chance of that 1-in-8 shot. So, 1-in-16. Yet the Rangers are 10-to-1 to win the World Series, and the A's are 12-to-1 So if you put, I don't know, your life savings on both the Rangers and A's, you're beating the odds. It can't lose. Except for all the ways it can. Also, I was an English major, so I'm not really sure what "odds" are. But here are the updated odds for the World Series and pennants in both leagues: Odds to win the 2013 World Series Los Angeles Dodgers - 13/4 Detroit Tigers - 19/4 Atlanta Braves - 13/2 Boston Red Sox - 15/2 Texas Rangers - 10/1 Pittsburgh Pirates - 11/1 St. Louis Cardinals - 11/1 Oakland Athletics - 12/1 Cincinnati Reds - 14/1 Tampa Bay Rays - 14/1 New York Yankees - 25/1 Baltimore Orioles - 28/1 Cleveland Indians - 50/1 Kansas City Royals - 75/1 Washington Nationals - 75/1 Arizona Diamondbacks - 200/1 Odds to win the 2013 AL Pennant Detroit Tigers - 2/1 Boston Red Sox - 15/4 Texas Rangers - 5/1 Oakland Athletics - 6/1 Tampa Bay Rays - 6/1 New York Yankees - 12/1 Baltimore Orioles - 14/1 Cleveland Indians - 25/1 Kansas City Royals - 40/1 Odds to win the 2013 NL Pennant Los Angeles Dodgers - 3/2 Atlanta Braves - 11/4 Pittsburgh Pirates - 5/1 St. Louis Cardinals - 5/1 Cincinnati Reds - 13/2 Washington Nationals - 40/1 Arizona Diamondbacks - 75/1
Damn, the Cards are 11/1 on the WS? Won't do it because I'm a Dodgers fan, but those are damn good odds.
