At this point, i'd rather not have Ramirez back, unless it's on a qualifying offer.

I personally think you are crazy for that view point. Before these past two games, did you see how bad our offense was without him?

Miguel Rojas' bat will make you rethink that by mid-April (not signing Hanley)

Smart $$ says Arruebarrena would be starting, not Rojas.

If i'm giving $100M+ to somebody, i'd rather it be Lester.

So no Lester, no Martin and Ramirez 50/50?

Can someone enlighten me on WAR. How is Jason Hayward at 6.1? He's sandwiched between two NL MVP candidates. Stanton is at 6.3 but his numbers seem light years better. Tulo was also on another level before he went down too. Where is Hayward's value coming from? .272 with 10 HR and 57 RBI seems pretty mediocre to me. Is he that much of a defensive upgrade? I don't get it.

He gets an extra 3.5 War for that mask he wears during his AB's. Pretty sure WAR has something to do with Star Wars:darth:

They're including his defensive WAR which is among the best in baseball. Defensive metrics are still a little screwy so you can't put much stock in them, but Heyward is by consensus easily the best defensive right fielder in baseball, and even outfielder overall, along with Alex Gordon.

    Wins Above Replacement.

He must be replacing Andruw Jones.

Yea, his defense has been outstanding this year and is very important. Aside from that he has a .355 OBP. The NL average is .312 and the average for RF (including JHey) is .328. If you want a rough explanation, he's 27 points of OBP above the average for his position and 29 points SLG below the average and since one point of OBP is more valuable than one point of SLG (why OPS is a bad stat--it assigns linear weights to both OBP and SLG) he's probably a slightly above average bat in right with a top flight glove. Include BsR and you can see where his value comes from with a quick look at the numbers

Bochy just got tossed. Peavy was being squeezed and then the ump just wrung up Posey on a pitch at his shins.
