Report: Raiders expected to make a run at Randall Cobb

Last year, wide receiver James Jones hit free agency and wound up leaving the Packers for a job in Oakland.
According to Bill Williamson of ESPN.com, the Raiders may try to make lightning strike twice. Williamson reports that the Raiders are expected to “make a run” at Randall Cobb in the event Cobb becomes a free agent on March 10.




i like it, but stick to the draft board as well. Cooper is the 2nd best player in this draft..take him if Williams is gone. if they can get Cooper as their #1, Cobb as their #2/slot, and sign Julius Thomas..they're in business. just need to add a RB that can complement Murray and that'll suffice for the skills positions on O. still have Jones as a high end #3 wide out..re-sign Streater and Brice Butler for depth. work on the O-line after that. Wiz II is probably gone..go after Hudson and Iupati.

There are plenty of experts, including Mike Mayock, that have Cooper rated as the 2nd best player at his position, and certainly not second best in the entire draft. Don't be disappointed if the Raiders take White.

 

Mayock explained his position. he has White ahead of Cooper based on potential, but gives Coopers the higher draft grade. go to NFL.com..Cooper is ranked #2 behind Williams.

another example..Mayock has Fowler ahead of Ray based on potential, but gives Ray the higher draft grade. sort of ceiling vs. floor.

as a Chefs fan, you should hope for any receiver in the 1st round and not be disappointed.

 

it really is unreal. i'd like to say that i've never seen it happen before, but i'm a Laker fan and we all remember the Andrew Bynum injury saga every year.

maybe if i qualify it by mixing in only MVP level guys. i don't think i've ever seen a MVP level guy go straight down the drain from injuries THIS fast. can't even say Peyton Manning because he came back pretty strong.

at least my team hasn't sucked 10 years in a row like the Gayders. You being an Oakland fan.. you should hope for the Raiders actually draft someone who won't bust like Heyward Bay, Huff, Russell, Fabian Washington, McClain, and on and on and on.
