    For instance, everyone is hating on JRoll for that game...but that game is the exception defensively, not the rule. With Hanley it was the exact opposite.

    And every team has problems. It's baseball, not everything is going to click on all cylinders all the time.

    Nah, I don't think anyone is hatin' on JRo about last night's misfires...no way. Sure there might be an immediate, knee jerk reaction, like I had when I realized Stephen Hawking Brain in RF was in a different game, in a different universe and time... far , far away...but, as you say, these guys are BB players; they can come back tomorrow and kill.....
    But if watching the manager scurry around like a mouse on crystal meth and beat a path to the mound is not a bit troubling, then I don't know if anything matters then.

    Could easily have 3 HR's and two in that game. He crushed another one off the wall that the thick air held out of the seats.

    tbh i get the pessimism/negatism
    we're fans, we're passionate -- sometimes irrational -- and we're going to over-react at times

    i still remember when ellis asked zack what he would do if he were the teams gm
    zacks response, "i'd trade you."

    After Zack Greinke, who was also thought to prefer pitching to Ellis, threw six strong innings Tuesday with Grandal behind the plate, he could hardly stop praising the catcher:

    “He’s been unbelievable back there,” Greinke said. “His catching is better than advertised, and working with me individually, he’s been as good as you could expect. I don’t think, from what I’ve seen so far, you could ever have expected anything more. He’s done everything. His hands are great. He’s blocked everything I’ve thrown. People stole on him last year, but he’s had some really good throws in games I’ve thrown in spring training. And then his game calling’s been good. I couldn’t draw up a better catcher at the moment.”    ​
