Goddam...couldn't we trade for Storen by giving them C.C. and somebody else...he would have really helped, IMO.
And keeping Paplebon..? I wonder what that says to Bryce? Or did they make up

Yup, I believe it is talk like this that is a big reason why people tend to think Puig "sucks" as he was getting that lofty Bo comparison right out of the gate, even though his first two seasons were pretty damn good. The hate is a little of his own doing as well, but people thought he was supposed to be this next level top tier talent when realistically, that may never have been in the cards due to his upbringing. Too much we see these comparisons and someone who is simply good, is regarded to as a bust because he was supposed to be the next Randy Johnson or some shit like that.

The Dodgers aren't getting anything of value at this point for Carl. He just can't stay healthy and there are plenty of better options out there for teams right now. He's apparently fine coming off the bench now, which makes me think he was happy to just get paid and was never super serious about this game. Wouldn't be shocked at this point if they end up eating 90% of his contract or just straight up DFA'ing him. Too many OF's on the bench right now and the team needs a back up SS.

Fans have to smarten up too tho.
The very 1st thing they tell you there about Lazarito is that he's 16 years old...as a fan that piece of info alone should be enough to make one press the brakes on the comparisons no matter what hack wrote the piece.
The word " kid " gets thrown around too, but he is literally a kid.
You can only be let down if you buy into that level of hype.

That said, it's also the media's job to hand out all these comparisons to keep the game front and center and to build more intrigue for the game all-around.
They also enjoy being the 1st to report " he was the greatest! " as well, so there's that too...the race to break the news or get attention/clicks/followers on Twitter/etc.

But the reports from the scouts themselves are put into that piece to a degree to have the balancing effect, sort of a hint at the needing to calm down a bit on the kid - " mixed results at best in his showcase. "
But of course the big words in bold are " Bo Jackson and Mays "
Like a lot of other things in life, we have to choose what to keep and what to get rid of.

Seems like fans are smarter than half the professionals getting paid to evaluate these kids...

Yeah, I know. I wrote that half heartedly..I know it wouldn't happen for a C.C. I don't know who Revere matches up with from our OF, but man, there some shaky, iffy BS out there for us. I was just day dreaming we got rid of Carl. I wouldn't mind having landed Storen somehow.
I see no place for CC at all...but they may wait a little before they pull the plug pn him. Who knows?

He's 34 now, and probably an old 34 because of his style of play all these years.
At some point you're just in the situation that you're in and there's no way around it, so gettin paid has to be the goal because you can't do much else.
DFA could be an option, which would leave us with 5 OF, 6 if you count Guerrero who should probably get DFA'd too unless an AL team wants him DH'ing.
I wonder if they'll ever move on from SVS with Trayce now aboard, we all know SVS is a CK fave.
It's interesting tho and the OF market playing out so slow sort of makes me think that some kinda deal is gonna be in the works for SVS even after shedding a CC.
Trayce has options left, but at what point do you hurt his progress by sending him down to OKC?
There's some potential there with Trayce, maybe not as a everyday guy, but better than SVS?
    Perhaps.

Cuban Prospect Lazaro Armenteros Declared Free Agent By MLB
By Steve Adams | January 11, 2016 at 4:03pm CST

Sixteen-year-old Cuban phenom Lazaro Armenteros — more commonly referred to simply as “Lazarito” — has been declared a free agent by Major League Baseball, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter link). Armenteros will be eligible to sign beginning on Feb. 10. Because he is just 16 years of age, Armenteros will be subject to international spending limitations. Any club that has already exceeded its budget — or any club that exceeds its budget to sign the infielder/outfielder — will be required to a pay a 100 percent luxury tax on the amount by which the pool has been exceeded.

    Get'em.
Perhaps the 1st official project for AA.

Rockies sign mother fucking Gerardo Parra. God I fucking hate that little shit and knowing he is going to be playing here is gonna make me even less likely to go to Rockies games. Expect to see Dickerson, Cargo or Blackmon gone now that the deal is done.

Damn, I think it might be CarGo...hopefully out of the division...not certain of the DBack's farm picture, but if the Rox trade CarGo to the DBacks..

The Rockies apparently want a haul for Cargo which is why Dickerson is the likely piece to move. Guy can hit, but plays shitacular defense. Doubt they would trade Cargo to the DBacks as they already have their OF pretty well set and their farm is void of anything of much value. I wonder if a team like the Marlins would try to go after Cargo and center a deal around Ozuna going back, though the Marlins system is fucking barren.

Yeah I love watching Cargo swing but it'd be nice to face the Rockies without him

Without Cargo, I can't see Arrenado sticking around for very long. Would not be shocked to hear him ask for a trade. The ownership here is a complete fucking mess
