All true, and the trades Ned made were solid and he publicly pwned Boras in the Manny negotiations, which had never been previously done at that point. His downfall was re-signing those guys after their strong post deadline performances like Lilly, League and Wilson. He got the Dodgers to the NLCS TWICE on his guile and a shoestring budget while now it would take the collapse of others to enable us to back in and most likely exit early, despite having the deepest pockets in the game and a house money TV deal. There's something to be said for having a good old fashioned "Baseball mind". Today, I'm sure he SMH's and takes their money to go on TV at night but watch, after his deal expires, he'll go on to be a GM somewhere else and be successful.

BTW, I'd rather not have this degenerate into a "Fuck Ned" of "How could anyone want him back" thread, just using our recent past as an example.

You can look at it that way.
I see it as phase 1 ending AKA the end of pulling stunts to be as good ASAP.
And it's not like it's a surprise, when Guggs took over LAD they were in the bottom 3rd of the league year in and year out regarding the farm system and the long term goal was to improve the farm to..shocker..actually use it and be more like the team that owns us in October ( STL).
And the farm's beginning to bear fruit, is it not?
Are we gonna act as if the price of throwing together a MLB level roster to compete right away hasn't been steep as well, especially when it ultimately hasn't yielded the desired result?

Keep seeing people talk about the super-rich Dodgers that initially showed up, those people obviously missed the fine print, got caught up in the headlines and still don't actually know who a Julio Urias is, don't know who Cody Bellinger and Alex Verdugo are, etc.
I get the frustration over LAD's place in the standings, especially because it seemed as if they were close the last 3 years, I was on the rampage the other night myself.
But they have #1 farm system in the game for a reason, gotta come to grips with the plan for the kids that are on the doorstep to contribute soon.
Gotta come to grips and just face it, if you take the LAD job and understand it's history, such as Fernando's impact on the org, you're going to keep Urias.
Where are the people who questioned holding onto Seager when Friedman wanted him for Price?
    Exactly.

Joc and Corey are the best hitters on the team right now, a few more farm guys land and fulfill their promise as those 2 have and we're possibly looking at Jeter/Bernie/Posada/Pettitte/Rivera core, only some are gonna stress themselves to death and never see it actually come to fruition.
We're talking the difference between maybe 1 WS appearance powered by rentals vs. maybe 5 powered by a batch of talented kids who came up together.
I understand being mad, an 8 on a scale of 1-10 is understandable, I was at 9 the other night.
But some are at like an 81 and consistent, rehashing the same ol' stuff everyday.

We are 8 games under 500 when he doesn't start. He's the definition of valuable.

When you' re right, you're right. He did do well with much less than available now...and I was one of his chief atagonist éfor years. But my disdain came from the Schmidt and Jones signings principally, so that was early on, when Frank was spending then for a winner. Anything else he did was magnified, unfairly probably, after those two bombs.
I firmly believe he would have signed either Cueto or Samardzija though.

Rehashing is as rehashing does...sometimes it's the years old Kemp RBIz dreary drone, and other times the AJ being on the team because of Clayton.
One means zero, just personal ridicule, the other, maybe true, results in Kershaw wins it looks.

    Exactly.
And Texas ARod and '06 Ryan Howard say wussup.
Texas was like 20 games under .500 and the Phillies finished 10-12 games out

No, that's just good troll material based on ridiculous pro-Kemp arguments, that's fun for all.
AJ is garbage, people that think Kemp is good, also think AJ should get mention in CK's wins.

Of course it's all OK if you do it over and over..what a surprise. It's not rehashing then...got it.
That's fine...and if Kemp sucks, that's fine too. But posting over and over like you do is just like everyone else does from time to time, rehashing: whatever the reason or spin you put on it. Rehashing.
And to write that people think the reason CK is great is because of AJ...aren't you just a little embarrassed behind that? Lol. No one.
You can be tired of the rehashing, sure...but you do it just like the rest do. Just as much.
And whatever it is, CK seems to want it that way. Likes to rehash it with AJ, not Yas$$, I guess.

No, again, that's fun at the expense of others aka trolling, and so many of us enjoy that regarding Kemp.
Now, if you're on the pro-Kemp side you obviously won't like it, but that's trolling...the name of the game.
The rehashing of the FO stuff is old, face it, most everybody understands that the plan is to now actually use the #1 ranked farm and begin to be more farm reliant.
People are just frustrated and being frustrated can make one say crazy things like " bring Kemp back and put him @ 1B "

Nah...it's the Kemp shit that's just as old, even older, face it, and most everybody accepts the fact that he plays for another team now.
And all that great fun at the expense of the FO is enjoyed by many, too. So, I guess if it's fun, it's not rehashing.
But I'm getting it...thanks...trolling is the name of the game! Who knew? Not me, until now.
And there are some that want Kemp back @ 1b? Crazy!
Everyone knows he should be in RF when Dre comes back.
    What jerks.

Considering he's currently listed as the projected starter and the game is nationally televised, I'd say you can almost bank on it. The exception is if they decide to slide Stripling back in there at some point, but given Thursday is an off day, that's doubtful. What sucks is that Kershaw then misses the Cubs, including a game featuring an Arrieta/Kazmir total mismatch.

Nah, nah, you can't even begin to compare the " Kemp " stuff vs. " the FO " stuff, that right there is just your usual stretching activity.
This FO stuff is everyday all day, 25/8, and most of it is not trolling, it's just complaining and acting because most do understand the path they're on.
And I'm one of them, not one who complains everyday about the FO, but I get mine in on them now and again knowing full what they're trying to do.
But there are those out there that are just steadfast and throw up a wall when guys like doyer and Mouse bite the bullet and try to explain the FO's course for them.
Those people don't want enlightenment, they just wanna blow off steam.

    Everyone enjoys trolling, G.
You yourself love to mention " depth " in just about every anti-FO post you make.
If the mention of " depth " in a negative or positive light gets to someone, that's on them for being sensitive.
And so yes, everyone enjoys trolling, even my man @doyerfan likes gathering info and trolling, has admittedly trolled people over Wood vs. Greinke and their numbers this season.
Not to throw doyer under the bus, but moreso to say that even the most non-confrontational guys like trolling.
That said, I'm fairly confrontational when I need to be...so start quoting me.

Now, with all that said it's all forum traffic, some of it is just corny, but by all means keep up the activity.
One of my favorite things to complain about is Turner in the damn 3 spot Lol
And there he goes again, I blame everybody for this, especially you gingers out there

Quoting you? Nah...I think you're getting me mixed up with someone else. I think I know who, too. Not my tactic.
So the "fairly confrontational" thing is like" knock this chip off my shoulder"? Lol. Or is that too Christmas Story?
Thanks for the warning...I can count my lucky stars that you don't confront me in one of your past forms for responding to your post. Phew...
OK...let's move along...we're done here...feets don' fail me now...
