Yeah but then the Giants win rings and high five in the clubhouse then buy some non name dudes who come up big for them to replace the lost prospects.

I guess the Gnats are all in. They truly believe in this even year thing and have essentially sold the farm (literally) to get over the hump.

They severely overpaid, but looks like they got players that might give us fits down the stretch.

    I guess we'll see.

Would love to get Kershaw back, and this team will start to look better and better.

Are waiver wire players eligible for post-season play?

Hill is our ace? You mean if he's not on the DL, right? A new ace now...that CK is down...I thought it was McCarthy...guess not.
OK. Rube, and anybody else... it was tje greatest deadline ever for the FO, and they magnificently addressed every problem we had, second to none. Perfect moves, one and all.

With Cubs adding a good reliever they got even stronger IMO the Gnats went all in in a year where the Rangers/Indians/Cubs and Boston are arguably better so I find it odd.

    Major upgrade with the stick.
Boy, did we need another competent AB.
A career long 3 spot hitter, that alone should get people excited.

Most of the baseball world has a hard on for those guys in their FO. Maybe just maybe they just lost their minds. I've said they are human so it can happen.

That's like the dying breath of every Dodger fan who reveres SFG. Lol
SFG fucks up just like everybody else.
As if Matt Cain's extra large contract never happened, as if Zito never happened, Samardjiza, etc.

It's also typically not their style. All people have been saying in the Bay Area is wait till Pence, Panik and Duffy get back and everything will be okay. Now Duffy is gone and so is much of their future.

Plus I don't see Peavey and Cain coming back. Maybe that's why they wanted Moore(?)

    The results don't lie.

The vast majority of the "prospects" they've traded in the recent past haven't amounted to anything.

They've fucked up to the tune of three titles in 5 years while the Dodgers haven't even made the Series since '88.

    Yes.
We got a great hitter (at least against righties) and a top of the line pitcher.
And another long relief/spot starter to help when we pitch our guys that cant go past 5 or 6 innings without tiring out.
Chavez could be a Blanton in the second half. We need relievers who can pitch a lot since our relief corps has been very busy. And btw, when Alex Wood comes back he is going to be a reliever as well. Plus guys like Norris and the recuperating Anderson might be relievers too. Which means that are relief corps will be in one way or another getting a boost.

How do the Rangers have all these prospects every year to make deals? Seems like every year they make a blockbuster move. What's that gotten them?
