I wanna see Dodgers vs Yankees in the WS. Bellinger Vs Judge rookie slugger showdown. Castro vs Taylor. Gregorious vs Seager Sanchez vs Grandal Gardner vs Joc Headly vs Turner We are way deeper offensively, that is pretty much all the yankees got. Our other guys are way better than their other guys,
What if they get lucky then? How bout that Puigy today with that slide at home plate. Thats classic Puig effect.
Count me in on hoping Adrian comes back and makes an impact. As amazing as this team is, there is certainly a steep drop off in the middle of the order after Bellinger. Joc and Grandal cannot be trusted. Nor can Logan. Streaky low-volume hitters. Joc is just horrible right now and I'm not buying stock on him going forward. He hasn't even settled on a batting stance in his age 26 season and the swing is awful. The apparent improvement against lefties towards the end of last year seems to have been a flash in the pan for him. He's fat too. Game on the line, I'll take Adrian or Barnes. I think we're going to the 'ship but Joc and Grandal are worrisome when the sample size shrinks down.
Joc is a terminal moron. I'm thinking Grandal is due for one of his patented hot streaks after this recent shitfest. Maybe he's waiting for the postseason to break out again. Forsythe is a journeyman. There's definitely a place for the old Gonzo.
more troubling is how pedestrian those grounders to second have become he's so used to it that he seems to have his batting helmet and protectors/gloves off to hand to the coach before he gets there another day at the office go play in pittsburgh
Just got the explanation on the post game show. Apparently Chase asked the 2B ump to move out of his line of sight several times during the game and umpire wouldn't move for him. Apparently Chase got POed said the magic word (or words). Seems like a bush move by the umpire.
Joc has to be given the Puig treatment. But not be sent down, not just yet at least. During the playoffs he needs to be dropped to the 8th spot. And also platooned vs lefties with Taylor. Puig should then be pushed up into the 5th or 6th spot in the lineup, his bat is needed vs righties. But should stay batting 8th vs lefties. If Adrian is not up to snuff it may be possible that Ethier can take his place in the lineup. He would start in LF vs righties and platooned with Kike most likely. 2B: Taylor/Logan SS: Seager 3B: Turner 1B: Bellinger RF: Puig (drops back to 8th vs lefties) LF: Ethier/Kike C : Grandal/Barnes CF: Joc /Taylor (Taylor bats 5th switching with Puig) Taylor plays to his strengths allowing him to not only set the table vs righties but be a power run producer where he is needed more vs lefties. Bellinger gets to play mostly at 1B both vs righties and lefties. This would make Irish very happy and keep Bellingers averages much higher. Ethier, Kike, Barnes, Logan and Joc become the platoon players that get the most at bats and starts. Adrian, and Utley become pinch hitters/spot starters. Thats 13 hitters. Kyle Farmer wont make it unless they go light on pitchers. And if Verdugo comes up he may make someone like Kike expendable.
