http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/sortable.j...mn=ops&sortOrder='desc'&extended=0&split=r123 If this would be different, I don't even want to know what our record would be. To me, there is no doubt if we hit better in this situation, we'd be a MUCH better team. I think we have at least 5-6 more wins than we do now. Not saying there aren't other issues, but this is a BIG problem.
it's a problem, but nothing to go crazy about when they still get on base and are the best @ taking 2B and getting into scoring position. they'll just be station to station unless Hanley wakes the hell up and Uribe pulls together health-wise. it'd help if they had an athletic catcher like Martin that could also run the bases.
meh sometimes stats are kinda misleading agreed we'd be much better converting in bases loaded spots but i'll take 1st place in the nl west over the lowly astros at 3rd in obp
Angels have the best record in baseball and are #28 on that list. Astros are 55-76 and are #3 on that list. Annoying that we suck with the bases loaded, but it's not a big deal.
I think the fact that Vinny mentions it every time he possibly can, multiple times, and it causes more awareness and concern to some than what it merits,,,but I do think we'd be much further in front if we were better at it. It's like Vin says over and over, that every time they have a challenge replay, it reminds him of just how good the umpires are...in my world, it reminds me how much they suck elephant penis. If they were so good, why even have it? Our BP sucks badly really, too. But you can't argue with first place...although bases loaded failure hitting and a shitbox BP like ours, doesn't fare well in short series, like post season playoff games...nosiree. Not well at all. And not enough gingers on the team....that's bad, man.
Again, not saying we'd be 15 games better, but for sure we'd have won at least 5-6 games more this season. Assuming we'd have won 5 more games, our record would be 79-53 and we'd have the best record in baseball. Of course, being one of the 5 best teams in the majors, there aren't going to be that many holes, but this is indeed one of them.
it is in the post season think phoenix suns or the gst warriors or any team run by a dantoni or don nelson type sure they won lots of games but they dont go very far when it counts this is a type of stat that sheds light on some intangibles within the squads its not a hard stat, but its a telling stat, and its a stat that can creep up and bite you in the stat
Then you should also take the games where we squeaked by and won by sheet luck or errors by the opposition. We have a +46 run differential for the season, only behind Washington in the NL.
such a cool thread i wish i started it damn such a critical thinker the whole mystery part in the op that almost forces you to open the link is brilliant
Hey devil, my good fine friend, I have our playoff tickets lined up (including WS). Gimme a call. BTW, we'll be sitting down in the safe, expensive seats with the other Jews....
