    The problem with looking at it so soon is that you can't know until the games happen. I'm a wait and see guy myself. You saw all the chatter about Reddick vs Bruce so the fact that we got him makes many giddy, only natural. As for Hill he's had an ace-like season but I don't think he's an ace either. Just happy it's a blister not a core injury.

    But the guys they had to give to get represent a majority of their top farm specs, not like they were dealing from depth either.

    Agree completely. Peavy has been annoyingly effective of late so more likely Cain who should be treated like porcelain.

    We did well, upgraded spots we needed to upgrade and kept our top line prospects for future dealings

    Giants upgraded a bit but neither move scared me or moved the needle much, plus they emptied their farm

    Hill is the X factor, if he pitches like he has been pitching he's borderline ace

    Hey that compares pretty nicely with Puig who is hitting .324 .372 .465 .837 with RISP ;)
    They make for a good tandem in the OF.
    Too bad Joc loses his power stroke when guys are on base and hits .273 .364 .409 .773 with RISP.
    But his AVG is better with RISP, just drops in power. Which is ok since Puig jumps up in power to cover him in those situations.

    My criticism of the trade is shared by the vast majority.
    The results say they make poor trades/deals too.

    Yeah....anyone questioning what the Gnats have accomplished with their FO and team the past 5 years is not really looking at it objectively.

    which we need with our combo of aging, super young, or injury nursing SP who all seem to be decent to good pitchers as long as you dont make them pitch more than 5 innings.

    Sure they can fuck up. But have they won 3 out of 5 world series or not? If those are the facts, they are the facts. If you laugh at the winners, then what are we?
    Yeah...they have a hard on for them because they are the most successful in the game.
    It doesn't mean you love the Giants because you are aware of their tremendous success. It would be different if they did nothing, like we have, but....In spite of making the usual mistakes, nothing cancels out 3 rings in 5 years. Laughable...and no matter if they fucked up badly this time, no one can take those away from them.

    I don't think it's about questioning the Giants but more about how it takes some luck to win in the postseason. Not saying it's all luck, but also not pretending that the Dodgers haven't had some damn good teams over the years that could've won with better luck.
