I do not believe in MS. 2019 was an insane spike in EVERY metric. We've seen this shit before and there isn't enough toilet paper to clean it.

Turner and Semien? It makes me think the Dodgers believe there will be a DH, or the price on Semien has fallen far enough that they don't mind adding a veteran that can handle 2B in case Lux gets off to a slow start. In his career, Semien has OPS'd almost .100 points higher vs LHP, so that could be attractive as well. I'm down. I mean, I'd rather sign Turner and Ozuna, but that's a much different price range.

Q: What's long hard and has Seimen in it?

I'd rather have Ozuna and Rios. Unless Turner signs for 2/25 that is.

Going to be a lot of empty chairs behind the podium at the next HOF induction (whenever that is).

Tough year for the former greats of the game.

I generally agree, but man that’s a hell of season where you have to think there’s potentially something more there. No, he’s probably not the 9 WAR guy he was, but they could see something where they think they can get him around 4 while maybe not paying for it. He’s got some serious upside, but he definitely comes with heavy risk.

Well well well.... off-season may finally be starting. We have George Springer to the Jays and a vomiting of other rumors start coming out:
    • Now that the Jays have signed Springer, they’re said to be closing in on a deal for another Astros OF’er, Michael Brantley. He’s represented by the same agent and word is that they discussed an NBA like group deal.
    • Jose Quintana signed a 1 year deal with the Angels.
    • Kikè Hernandez was supposedly close to a deal with the Mets, but the GM situation now has him in limbo.
    • Nightengale says that the Giants and Angels appear to be most realistic landing spots for Trevor Bauer.

Man. I really had my heart set on Ozuna but that's just not the Dodgers way.
I'd be happy with a short Turner contract and Brad Hand.

It's pretty fucking annoying that no decision about the DH has been made.....fuck the NL, huh?

It’s ridiculous, but selfishly I know the Dodgers are better set than anyone to deal with a last minute decision on it.

There was an interesting article from a couple days ago about whether Ozuna is the new J.D Martinez. While J.D was great the first two years of his contract and helped deliver a WS ring, the Sox our now wishing that he was gone. Martinez had a stronger resume than Ozuna did going into free agency and an even more insane 60 game stretch. It was said that Martinez had really only 1 suitor until the end with the Sox and Boras sparring well into Spring Training which made the size of his contract even more complexing. So are teams looking at this and sticking to 2-3 year deals? or a much lower AAV? He still has some value as a guy who could play in the OF and he's not the black hole that J.D. Martinez is defensively, so if there is no DH he could still be useable. It will be interesting to see what kind of a deal he does end up getting as he's over a year younger than George Springer and doesn't have the scarlet letter of a cheating scandal hanging over his head. Ozuna has had two OPS+ seasons that were at or better than any season Springer ever had. At the same time, Springer has been WAY more consistent on a yearly basis while not having the injury issues that Ozuna has. He is going to be an odd case and I think the Dodgers being linked to him is just a response to what Andrew Friedman has said in the past... they check in on EVERYBODY. Friedman has multiple backup plans and Ozuna seems more like a backup plan in the event Turner goes somewhere else AND the DH comes to the NL at the same time. Turner and Ozuna is not going to happen and Turner has the team leader button that works in his favor. I really want to see the club add a big RH bat, just not sure how they do it at this point while staying under the tax that they are supposedly trying to avoid.

    • An Atlanta reporter has said that the Blue Jays and Michael Brantley came to terms on a deal last night, but there is no confirmation on this being true. There were multiple reports that they were close and there was some perceived agreement behind the scenes. This would mean that trades would be on the horizon for a Jays team that had multiple solid contributors in the OF, but are in serious need for starting pitching. It would also likely mean that we are that much closer to Justin Turner returning to the Dodgers as the Jays were the only other team seriously linked to him.
    • The Dodgers have been linked to Brad Hand all offseason, but reports are now saying that he was close to a deal with the Mets prior to the messy GM situation that surfaced in yesterday's early morning hours. This would be the second player to be impacted by that event.
    • The Royals signed Wade Davis to an MiLB deal. Damn... I wanted the Dodgers to snag that.

Semien has enough upside with the stick. Add him along with Turner and that's fine. Especially if Mookie's troubles VS LHP end up being a blip - likely

Wouldn't be as big a deal if Pollock just lived up to his contract and earned his money when the chips are down in the fall. But the reality is he's atrocious when the chips are down. Man has a .176/.243/.294 line over 7 career postseason series. Damn shame we have to watch a guy with postseason chops like Kike walk away, but Pollock stays
