Kris Bryant is set to become a free agent after next season after settling on a contract with the Cubs for $19.5 million for 2021. He's been the subject of trade rumors, as he and the team haven't been able to come to an agreement on a longer-term deal. He's also heard criticism of his play, perhaps for the first time in his career. That prompted the 2016 NL MVP to sound off at the end of the 2020 season.

"I don't give a s---," Bryant said at the time. "I really don't. That's a good answer. I'm over it. Sometimes I go out there and go 4-for-4 and it's not good enough for some people, so I don't give a s---."

Lol C'mon, guy. Spare the people at least 1 shit

I actually think its refreshing that a professional athlete gives details during his free agency.

I have to imagine his relationship with the Cubs is pretty soured after the service-time manipulation challenge from him. Not that 29 other teams wouldn't have done the same thing to him, but it just seems like a situation where he needs to move on. I'd say he's a player who doesn't get the credit he is due for how good he is, and there could very well be a mega-contract on the line for Bryant in 2021. I definitely wouldn't mind him on the Dodgers as a rental with a huge chip on his shoulder, and if he isn't moved this offseason he could very well be on the move at the deadline. 3B/LF/DH who absolutely murders LHP? Sign me up.

If the relationship has soured that much, that makes it harder to trade him and get anything of worth in return. And they're said to want a lot. Any team that gives up a good amount of talent for Bryant is gonna want him to be open to an extension. And he could simply say, " fuck off..I'm heading for free agency no matter what team I'm traded to. I'm not helping you bitches get a good return. "

Weird to see Bryant painted as guy who doesn't get enough credit. Highly touted, former MVP, WS champ, fan fave, etc. His defense is a little suspect though

If the Cubs are out of contention at the deadline, then they might trade Bryant for whatever they can get. Then again, a rotting grapefruit might have a chance to win that division, so maybe there's a low chance they are out of contention.

Okay, I don't disagree with that... but 14 minutes worth of details? Couldn't he have his say in two minutes?

There are very few athletes whom I'd respect enough to give 14 minutes of my life to hear them talk.

Yeah probably a decent bet to be in the race. Contreras and Baez are still around as well. Looks like they're gonna ride it out

Hammerin' Hank is a great nickname, but I preferred what Vin called him.............Bad Henry.

RIP truly the greatest HR hitter ever.

I met Al Downing at a shoe store in Encino the day before they went to Atlanta and I asked him straight out if he thought Hank was going to hit it off him. He leaned all the way down to me and told me face to face, "Son, I'm going to be on highlight reels til' the end of time" and he winked.
