Nice, glad he's getting a shot. Hopefully he can provide some pop.

2B. RT @nvroutofthismaz: @Kevin_Goldstein Any idea if Dodgers are gonna play Castellanos at 2B or in OF?

It looks like the Dodgers are definitely targeting him for 2B based on where he played in Albuquerque. Most of his previous minor league experience is in RF, so he could play there as well. Not a defensive gem statistically at either position, so don't expect to see him play anything but 2B or RF.

For those not familiar with him, this is who we got last year from the Cardinals in the Rafael Furcal trade. The guy can hit.

Cool. If he can hit, I want him in the lineup.

How many infield utility players do we have now? Just curious...

Get him in the starting lineup ASAP every single game and let's see if he can help this team or not. My money is on that he will hit and will produce offensively.

Dodgers.com has him as an outfielder and the Topes site has him as a 3rd baseman. I would think he would play inthe OF since we are down an OF. No changes have been made to the active roster and Matt hasn't been DL'd officially, if he is indeed called up then a corresponding roster move must be made, doesn't it? We are at 25 men right now. 1 more strange fact, a Cardinals site is where I 1st saw his rumored call-up and yet nothing from the Dodgers. I hope this is true!

Edit: Finally it's reported on dodgers.com!

2nd is where talented hitters like James Loney hit. They're going to need to find another place in the lineup for AC to bat since the 2 hole is occupied by the Rally Killer Extraordinaire.

Alex is listed as an outfielder on the active roster, not 2nd so far. Oh by the way alot of 2nd basemen don't automatically hit 2nd.
