    nope, no arguing that
but to continue to praise a guy who cheated?
i'll never forget the joy and excitement he brought in 2008
but i can't forget the disappointment of how he fucked us thereafter either

I mean at least Manny wasn't a gigantic asshole about it. My problem with Braun isn't that he tested positive, it was his selfish actions by deliberately lying to everyone.

Sure, but what Braun did doesn't even compare IMO.

One thing that is amazing year in and year out is how the Rockies free fall after the first month of the season. It seems like one big guy gets hurt, then the whole team just crumbles. Granted they have had some terrible luck with Cuddyer, Arenado and Cargo all going down(not to mention every single pitcher dying as well), but man it is the same exact story every flipping year. But hey, we got a party deck at the stadium now so I'll keep going to games!

    what a fucken douche
i understand his thoughts and don't necessarily disagree
and i'd have no problem with him voicing it to management
but airing it to the media not only undermines the manager, but shows what a selfish, immature, spoiled, coddled ckunt he really is
tell you what bryce... how about you stfu, do your job and let matt williams do his?

Bryce Harper not happy about lineup

Bryce Harper returned to the Washington Nationals' lineup Monday night, but he didn't agree with how manager Matt Williams filled it out.

Reinstated from the 15-day disabled list after missing the previous 59 games because of a torn ligament in his left thumb, Harper openly questioned Williams' decisions hours before the team's 7-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies in Washington.

The manager's lineup included Ryan Zimmerman at third base, Anthony Rendon at second base, Harper in left field and second baseman Danny Espinosa on the bench.

"I think [Zimmerman] should be playing left. Rendon's a good third baseman. He should be playing third. We've got one of the best second basemen in the league in Danny Espinosa," Harper told reporters. "Of course, we want the best-hitting lineup in there. [But] I think Rendon playing third and Zim playing left is something that would be good for this team. I think that should be what's happening."

Harper, 21, previously has said he "loves" playing center field and hoped to be there when he came off the DL. So playing in left in his first game back could have caused some of the apparent dissatisfaction.

"I haven't talked to nobody about anything, so I have no clue," he said. "I know I'm playing left tonight, via Twitter. So I guess that's where I'm going."

Williams, when told of Harper's comments before the game, took the high road.

"Happy to have him back," the first-year Nationals manager told reporters. "When he's out there, regardless of where he's at, we'd like him to catch it when it's hit to him and hit it when it's thrown to him. ... I don't have any comment other than that. ... Hopefully, I can write his name in there every single day the rest of the year. That would be very important."

Harper also batted sixth Monday night, a spot where he had seen part-time duty before the injury but also one outside the heart of the order.

"I'm in the lineup. That's all that matters," he told reporters. "If I had the lineup, it would maybe not be the same. He's got the lineup card. He's got the pen. That's what he's doing. So there's nothing I can do about it. I'm hitting sixth tonight."

    Williams explained the move.

"Part of the thought process was, Bryce has been out a long time," Williams said. "We got three straight lefties, so we take a little bit off the expectation there, coming out first time against a lefty [Yohan Flande], and ease him back in there a little bit. That's today's lineup. It may change tomorrow. For today, he's going to be right in the thick of it. We hope to provide him an opportunity with guys on base today."

Williams previously acknowledged he would have to do some lineup shuffling when Harper returned.

Zimmerman, whose chronic shoulder problems had moved him off third base, had been playing in Harper's spot in left field.

I heard after the game yesterday, Harper completely ignored Spans high-five and turned his back on him to high-five Werth.
Really starting to dislike the guy. He needs to grow up and earn his accolades, all he's shown capable of so far is above average offense and serviceable defense. Span BTW is a much better center fielder than Harper is.

like i said, i have no problem with it either
but voicing it publicly, his first game back, is disrespectful to both williams and span and causes friction in the clubhouse
he should be fined and benched tbh

On my former board I was widely ridiculed for voicing the very same opinions about Harper during his rookie season. I said he needed to earn a place before mouthing off, he needed to show some respect to those who had actually accomplished something in the game, and that he was a little fuckin' prima donna. I was told I was fabricating things because I disliked him. I wish I was a Drysdale type pitcher, I'd buzz his fucking ears every time I faced him.
