Gonzo's power has been gone since he fucked his shoulder. If Beckett and Crawford are an acceptable salary dump, I disagree. It makes the price for agon become ridiculous. He's having a hard enough time earning his own salary.
He doesn't need to be a 40 homer guy on this team though, 20-25 homers .300 avg 100 RBI's we have more than enough power with Hanley, Puig and hopefully Kemp.
Yeah it's pretty hard to bag on Gonzo. The contract isn't favorable for the Dodgers, but he's doing everything we expect him to do and then some. My thing is that it's not crippling the Dodgers from making any moves, so I don't see how it's a bad deal for the Dodgers.
I disagree on the deal holding the dodgers back. I can accept youre happy enough with gonzalez, i still believe just barely being on the .300/20-25/100 plateau you expect from him, is selling his contract short. You can find that at first base on half the rosters in the league. You're getting way too little for 38 million dollars to cc and Beckett. The dodgers may be able to absorb the $ without pain, they don't get extra roster spots. Luckily this is the last year you guys have Beckett but Crawford is goin to hurt the team for years to come.
well, i foresee good times ahead for the Dodgers, so i don't know shit about this " hurt " you're talkin about.
I don't agree with you on Gonzo completely, but I sure do agree with you on what we are "getting" from CC and Beckett so far. Ned will extend them probably, especially CC. And we'll probably will move Ethier, who compared to the rest of the OF, is an Iron Man, because of CC's presence.
