I'm sure it's allowed, but why would he do it? Even if he pitched fairly well the last 2 months (and then hell froze over), I doubt someone would offer him $10M.

That's a good question, and I'm not sure of the answer. But I heard long ago that in all major sports, the player unions would be very much against any player waiving a term of their contract to better favor the team. That's a precedence they want to avoid. But as you said, in this case it could benefit Haren next year.

But he not going to get the big payday next year anyhow, assuming the Dodgers aren't dumb enough to allow him to qualify. So the alternative is he gets cut here shortly while posting the worst numbers of the year, in which case he's likely done, or he pitches into the postseason with potentially some success and parlays that into another season with a different team next year.

This is my thoughts exactly. Could benefit both sides. Really doesn't hurt anyone because if he doesn't agree to waive it he's likely just done. Possibly for good.

I doubt Ethier would have feared much better too I'm afraid. SVS and Joc platoon time.

So basically imagine how shitty Ethier is versus lefties this year. Crawfords been worse then that in TOTAL since coming off the DL

Funny how a team winning glosses over that right? Because I personally don't give a single fuck haha. Wait until we lose a couple though.

Dan Haren is on the mound, so it'll be sooner rather then later :D

But yeah it's easy to gloss over when everything else is clicking just pointing it out

To me it's just another reminder of how gutless our F.O still is. What pride does Ned have left, I mean really? Pretty certain CC and Ethier will be placed on waivers, but why not in this new section of Dodger history just say fuck it, and play SVS and Joc. Ethier and Crawford just aren't any good. Lets incorporate the future into the present while we still have such an offense that can protect the youth (talking about Joc in particular) if they struggle. It's now about two months too late. Lets get the ball rolling.

He lost about 10kg of muscle mass looking at him. Either off the juice, or got paid and stopped lifting. HOPEFULLY he didn't cut weight per F.O orders to cover center, because that would piss me off.
