My Dad is taking ME. lol! I sure as hell didn't shell out the mula.

Bad thing is we have to advance for it to become a reality. Secretly wanted an NLDS game.

I hope Puig makes Ford his actual bitch, because we all sure as hell know he can pimp things out.

I always just buy the tickets on stubhub. If we make it to the WS it wouldn't be a second thought. I'll be in that stadium.

Why me? I love Puig too. He just needs to pull his head out of his ass like most kids.

Why don't you answer my question I asked in my earlier thread about him? It was meant for you really.

I gots to go this year, but I think I'd be a nervous wreck. I'm pretty anal about money so I'd be nervous about not only the Dodgers losing but I'd keep telling myself I shouldn't have spent my money lol, but this year I really wanna go to Game 1 of the NLDS when we have that home field advantage locked up.

Do it man. Definitely very nerve wracking. I thought you've been to a playoff game before?

Nope, not a Dodgers one. I went to a DBacks NLDS Game 1 game in 2001, Curt Schilling threw a complete game shutout haha.

I'm on that same fence. I'm in a good position in Columbus where if we play Pittsburgh, Cincy or Detroit I could get there within 3 hours, but I'm just not sure if I could take watching the games in the stadium. I literally can't sit for more than a pitch or two during big games so I can't imagine me at a big playoff game. I think I'll try to catch maybe one but otherwise the couch by myself with my door locked is the go to move.

I don't like heart attacks, I dunno if I could go to a playoff game lol.

But I really do want to go, a lot of the knuckleheads are priced out and the atmosphere is intense and focused.

i've only been to one. as a kid we were always priced out of them i guess although my dad got me to two super bowls incl the dolphins perfect season. and i loved the dolphins so i was nearly pissing my pants the whole time even though the game was boring.
in 88 i was on my own and paying rent on my apartment etc so it was financially not happening. still remember where i watched gibsons HR. my gf at the time wanted to see her friend so since the game was more or less over i agreed and when we walked in i asked her to turn it on. a few minutes later BOOM.
the one i went to was where Kent hit a hr to tie it up but we inevitably lost. but it was super electric that night in the stadium. only thing compared for me was the manny bobblehead HR.
this time out i'm definitely going to try. but it still doesn't make sense to pay more than 150 a seat for me. even though i could afford to do so i would not be comfortable paying that much for a game.
this economy has really fucked me when it comes free tickets. i used to have all sorts of offers from people that wanted me to buy their stuff. fuck they even sent me to other countries. now its no frills lowest price all over.

It's so ridiculously nerve racking, but I can say I witnessed the Holiday nut shot with my own eyes. Maybe some magic happens this year? :vrp:

All their offensive numbers are relatively close with Agon having the edge in all of them. However, since Andre puts clost to the same numbers while doing it at a premium position, CF, Andre gets the edge offensively.

Also, Andre's defensive value is much greater because he's playing at least average defense in CF.

Andre has really shocked me this year being as valuable as he's been.

Adrian Gonzalez has been a pretty big fail since putting on a Dodgers uniform. It honestly shocks me that Agon doesn't get more shit from the fans and the media. But the media is stuck on him playing everyday and his RBI's to notice that he is a very very very slightly above average 1st baseman that is making elite money.

ok, lets see (and by that I dont mean to say anything other than I'm doing the in depth evaluation as I type this)...

    Ethier: .275 AVG .360 OBP .452 SLG 10 HRs 27 2B 47 RBI 60 R - .227/.354/.319 with Scoring position
    Gonzo .291 AVG .338 OBP .414 SLG 17 HRs 28 2B 81 RBI 48 R - .333/.392/.520 with Scoring position

Here's my take on Ethier's year (and has been all season, and now I can support it with numbers)

Ethier has become the new James Loney, a hitter that will get his hits when they really dont matter... the triple line with RISP between the two represents what I've noticed all year, which is also represented by his low RBI number... he is .298/.365/.474 with the bases empty (68 hits) and another 25 of his hits are only with runner on 1B... the extra OBP would help if he was hitting higher, but he's the last piece of the strong part of the lineup, and should be driving the ball more...

I specifically stated in my post that I don't value hitting in high leverage situations as much as you, so obviously to me the numbers with RISP doesn't hold much weight. Ethier has put up similar numbers in RF and CF to those Gonzalez has at 1B.

I also completely disagree with the OBP doesn't matter as much in his spot in the lineup.

how would it not matter? you dont want a 7th hitter with a high OBP just to stay there everytime the 8th and P make an out... the point of the game is to score runs, and I do understand the concept of OBP creates runs, but if you have a runner on 3B and you are batting 5th or 6th, you need to bring him in, even with a SF... to get a walk and just let the bottom third of the order pick up what you should do is not preforming up to expectations...

i know this might not be the best comparison, but look at AJ and his fantasy value... the guy's OBP is always almost .100 higher than his BA, but he ends up just staying put as no one comes after him to move him...

Ethier in high leverage situations: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=ethiean01&year=2013&t=b#lever::none

.920 OPS. Having runners in scoring position is not the only "clutch" situation there is. You can't compare that to Loneys .620 OPS in high leverage last year. RBIs are not a good indicator of a players value on a year.

And OBP can help anywhere in the lineup, just like slugging percentage can, it just plays in different ways and the counting stats would differ. It shouldn't make any player any lesser or greater of a hitter determined by where the manager decides to play that player. If a player has a .370 OBP with say a .430 slugging and is hitting first but then he is hitting 4th now he is worse b/c of lineup position?
