    He seems to run well and make contact, good defender. I was happy with the glimpse I saw from him. Small sample size though

    speed and contact is what will carry him offensively. I'm mostly going from reports but his hype initially was that he could handle the middle infield defensively and had a good enough hit tool to stick around. He's moved off SS but hopefully that was more to do with Andrelton Simmons rather then Peraza.

    So, he's a dude who could potentially play up the middle at SS/2B/CF with above average defense, but offensively speaking, he's going to need to make a lot of contact to be an every day player. Dee Gordon is the easiest comp (although Peraza is much more advanced then Dee at his age): No walks, not much power, and you hope his speed lets his BABIP be high enough to have a solid batting average. I'm hoping best case is he is a dude who won't strike out much and puts the bat on the ball a lot, and I would say maybe an optimistic floor is a quality back up player

    Yeah I was itching to say "didn't we already have this with Dee?" Haha

    But I like Kendrick and roster flexibility so I didn't go that way.

    Yeah Dee is the easy comparison like I said but it's hard to compare any players. I would say but wouldn't feel strongly about it, that Dee was less advanced, had worse defense, and more questions about contact but more exciting speed not to mention hitting left handed is more beneficial to his skill set

    I think he could be better than Dee. Peraza makes more contact and should walk slightly more, with slightly more power too. Dee has a little bit more speed. Defensively I'm not sure, but he (Peraza) seems to have more flexibility in that area too.

    I know statistically righty-lefty match-ups should work, but for mediocre hitters, does it REALLY matter?

    Or is Donnie just really bad implementing the strategy.
