I tend to agree with this also, but friends I have in the restaurant business would tell you that they better get a tip even for carry out because they still have to put the order together and what not.

 

I used to. I suggested they do what it takes to get a better job. Haven't eaten that shit in a few years

 

A legit 'restaurant' might be a bit different. But a fast food, pizza joint, etc...no effing way.

 

He's not saying don't play him but if you are going to start him then at least bat him 7th or 8th until his bat wakes up if ever.

 

If the pizza wasn't cut yet and pizza slice guy would cut you a bigger slice because you tipped that would be one thing but it is pre cut!!
You get a designated slice no matter what. I tip 20% at restaurants and I tip bar tenders the same but pizza slice guy...

Yeah I really think it just depends on the place and what your order was. For a slice of pizza or a burger? Hell no. Maybe if they give incredible customer service or something but that's as far as it goes when it comes to fast food IMO.

Now that the libs up here voted in a $15 an hour minimum wage, tips will not be as generous. Some places are already telling guests tipping is optional or not necessary. Those place bumped everyone to the $15.

The law that it is a gradual increase over a few years. But that means prices go up as much as 15%

 

Yeah, and for a burger joint, 'incredible customer service' is gonna have to be some form of sexual gratification.

I tip servers, bartenders and delivery people.

All of the bussers and kitchen help get tipped out by the wait staff so fuck them.
My industry friends laugh at that train of thought. They eat for free and in a lot of cases drink for free.

You feel you are entitled to tips? Get a better job snivelers.

I was a delivery guy for a pizza place way back when. I got to keep my delivery tips, but any tips left in the building was pooled and then divided up by all the employees EXCEPT delivery guys (logic was we got our own tips). Shitty thing is I didn't see any of those tips even if I was bussing tables or taking orders in between deliveries. So bottomline, fuck 'em. If they want a tip they should get a car and deliver pizza.
