everybody's talkin about Olivera and that's understandable because of the recent news, but what about Corey Seager? Ethier for Kazmir. both Friedman and Zaidi have had Kazmir..perhaps they can reach an agreement with Beane with those two as the headliners.
Seager is off to a terrible start in OKC, (7/37) .189, but given that he only has 8 Ks, he is likely having some bad luck on the BABIP side of things. Assuming he doesn't need TJ, Olivera will come up after a month.
yes, but who cares? he's not gonna be anymore ready 2-3 weeks from now. he's basically out of harm's way in OKC. he's ready.
BTW...considering the heroics of SVS last night, with the walk off and the throw and all, I imagine his no hustle tag on Rollin's unlucky liner DP shouldn't be mentiond So I won't. A game of redemption...no doubt. Ask Yelich...
That is not at all on him, he shouldn't have to worry about another base runner failing to properly read a ball and failing to get back to the base before Stanton got the ball back in. Van Slyke did what he needed to do to score, Joc just screwed him over, and frankly, Joc should have been parked on the bench for that.
I'd think they ease him in, depends on various factors, like if Uribe/Guerrero/Turner are or aren't traded, injuries, and how each is performing. Ethier/Crawford/SVS could factor in because of roster spots too.
Yep. Just in case anyone missed it, Bolsinger is now up and Heisey was sent down. Bolsinger and Frias are now listed as the probable pitchers to finish out this series.
21-10. With the starting pitching still a concern do they really want to risk it and fuck with the current chemistry on offense?
You can only fit so many players on a team. At some point Ryu, Beachy, Jansen, Puig, Crawford, Peralta, and Brandon League are going to come back. Possibly Withrow too. There is going to be a ton more roster moves this season.
you'd have to think guerrero is the likeliest to go as he won't have a position when puig comes back, lf will be a platoon of svs and [one of] ethier/crawford and 3b is gonna be uribe/turner with olivera in the mix [possibly] in the not so distant future still, guerrero's a valuable bat to have coming off the bench
Puig has hammy issues and with Conte in place as head trainer, the issue could linger as we know all too well.
Nah, no hustle is doggin it, IDK...when Matt Kemp did the same thing (almost) and sustained a horiffic ankle injury, him not hustling was enough to excoriate him roundly on this website. It was a substantial element for hating him by many. You hustle all the time, and run to tag up and do what you need to do. I guess if you're a liked hero, not a filthy SD OF, it's OK. IMO, SVS shoulda hustled and it cost us a run. No amount of Joc beating, deserved or not, is gonna change it. It's a separate issue. But it's nice we are good enough for it not to matter.
