SVS was one of the top hitters against LHP in all of baseball last year. Sitting him against them because of CC and his contract will hopefully be a relic of times long passed with this new management group.
I'd love to see an OF of SVS-Joc-Puig, but at this point that is a dream because one of Ethier or CC will start. Still think they should've tried to move CC.
Even if CC gets the majority of starts against LHP, I still hope SVS gets enough AB's, even if it means covering Gonzo at first. From memory Gonzo had horrid splits last year.
Maybe the modern shift worked better against him with LHP as opposed to RHPing, seemed a little odd last year. Hopefully an anomaly.
I don't think you'll have to worry about that. SVS got most of the starts against LHP last season, even with a much dumber front office.

Puig's 5th bomb. 10 hits total in the spring, 5 bombs. nice contact hitting by Rollins as well, getting the runner home from 3B with less than 2 outs. simple, yet not so simple for the team last year. hopefully they can keep doing it in the reg-season when the situation calls for it.
although spring stats shouldn't be the determining factor, I'm pretty glad Joc is having a great spring stat wise to get PR perception behind him in giving him the CF role. I think it was his regardless of stats and as long as his swing, effort, mechanics were all solid, but you just know that if Ethier had a .300 BA in spring and Joc a .200 BA, you'd see a lot of short-sighted public pressure and questioning in having Ethier as the starting CF over Joc, which is worse for the Dodgers.

imma be pissed if Kike Hernandez is left off the bench because of Ethier still being around. he's shown me enough. bench should be SVS-Turner-Hernandez-Guerrero-Ellis
