Seager is hits.
idk what was least expected: Joc with an infield hit or Corey to straight away center with the homer
I’ll take it.
Regardless of which brother, nice work ...
Bitch. Beat me to it.
^^^ @irish has that nicely teed up for him
Kyle went 0-2 with a strikeout in a game they lost 21-1 hahaha
So ... a win today puts LA 1.5 behind Houston and a full game behind NYY for HFA. Atlanta has been streaking, but lost today. Houston won 21-1 ... way to stay relevant, Seattle...
Anyway, Atlanta has 4 in Philly and 3 in DC, and I'd be surprised if they win three of those. They are headed for a cooling off and both their opponents have something to fight for, while Atlanta has the division in pretty well in hand (MN = 11).
The real concern is whether LA will pull its head out of its own ass and lighting up Balty and the NYM while the time is ripe. With the silent bat horseshit of the last week and the dicey pitching, what SHOULD be a soft week could be a murder plot in HFA.
Meanwhile, the effing Stros will rip off another six wins this week, those pricks. Man, I loathe Houston...
welp, Urias is going back to the bullpen in Baltimore lol. With Hill coming back, wonder if they think Gonsolin/Hill is good enough for a 4th starter? (Or 3rd if needed).
We’re not catching the Stros the way they are playing. We may catch up to NYY. Then we have to hope that NYY beats out the Stros cause I do not want a rematch of Houston LA.
Plus I like the historical nature of a WS with NYY and LA.
I guess it's a foregone conclusion that we're winning the pennant, eh? Looking at where this team is now...
We'll be lucky to do that, I think.
You are dead right. I won't be surprised if it goes that way. We have looked into the mouth of the lion, brother. We see this for what it is. ESPN and the lesser sports media just strokes the same dick, year in, year out. if and when this goes bad in October, they'll all talk about some other invented narrative ... but we saw this over a year ago.
Still ... I see the Braves or Cards or whomever sucking just as much, and LA waltzing into the Classic and getting ripped again. It feels like doom ...
So let it be written; so let it be done.
It’s not a foregone conclusion we get past the NLDS. Facing the hottest of Washington, Chicago, Milwaukee, or Arizona? Even if they are down an ace, it’s going to be a tough matchup (at our current pace we could enter the playoffs without an ace ourselves). It almost wouldn’t be the worst thing to lose HFA in the NL and face the Cardinals instead... or maybe it would.
Bottom line, last year we barely won the NL in a down year, and I don’t think the field is nearly as nerfed in 2019. I like our chances as much as anyone, but we have a long way to go still.
We couldn’t beat the Stros with HFA, so maybe not having it is just what the doctor ordered?
Oh who am I kidding? Here’s to hoping the A’s or Rays get hot and take out the whole field.
Not trying to find a silver lining to LOSING HFA, but ...
I always though the 2-3-2 structure of baseball favored the team with games 3-5. I realize the numbers do not exactly bear that out, but it seems that if you split games 1 & 2 on the road, those three at home give you a decided leg up over a maybe games 6 and 7.
Then again, WTF do I know? I get so nuts realizing that I remember 1988 like it was yesterday. I had seen LA raise the trophy when I was in high school, and then again right after graduating college. I figured, shit ... I'll see this another four or five times before I die. No worries .... talk about a fucking nimrod, huh?
Nine hits over the past two days, despite SF starting two pitchers with ERAs north of 5.00. Got bailed out today by the two HRs, which has been the winning MO of late.
Need to start stringing a bunch of hits together. This HR or nothing attack is going to fail them in the postseason.
