    and remember him starting that huge brawl with the Giants in SF
    Bill Singer plunked Mays, Marichal threw two at Singer's head
    Buckner and Marichal had had words before
    so when he plunked him, Buckner charged the mound and all hell broke loose
    I remember Bill Sudakis going absolutely nuts
    but yeah, Billy Buck was an absolute gamer...

    one last add
    was great that Boston eventually forgave him for his '86 blunder
    dude was too great a player to be remembered for one mishap in an otherwise great career
    the standing O they gave him was pure class and a great moment... and probably help exorcise a few demons

    they would have had no chance without the offense the guy brought to that team. coach easily could have made a defensive replacement that late in the game.

    McNamara brought Dave Stapleton in as a defensive replacement all year for Buckner
    his excuse -- and it was certainly understandable -- is that Billy Buck deserved to be on the field when they won

    Even thought this is of far greater magnitude it still reminds me of how douchey Dodger fans can be. I'm still pissed off that the Dodger fans booed Nomar when he returned to DS as an Athletic. Thet REALLY pissed me off...like more than anything I've ever seen from Dodger fans. complete classless shit there.
