I'm told, this is not the case...by more than one.

Yeah, he doesn't. He's probably a backend guy which doesn't suck at all. Haha

Started at 19 and is now only 23 but he was in AA for 2 years which slowed him down and was probably a victim of 2 different minor league development philosophies. Right now in his 2nd year at AAA, slow yes but he may get a shot this year around September 1st or trade bait.

Olivera 1 for 2 with a line drive single for an RBI. He lined out to 3rd in his 1st at-bat.

be accurate if you're gonna hang on my nuts, lil b. the worries with Puig had to do with his ABs and how they looked no different from his clueless stretch from last season. the whole point was observing the growth of a young player who's still developing.

Puig's obviously talented in an otherworldly type of way, but he was rushed to the bigs because of injury, so he didn't get the full minor league developmental treatment.

if one isn't constantly looking for Puig to break through and be more consistent in his approach to the game in general ( not just at the plate, but in the field and on the bases) then that person's probably just a casual fan of the game. right now he looks locked in and thank God, but how long before he goes from the ceiling to the floor again? we wait and observe to see how his maturation is coming along.

I hear you and I want to believe it but he cannot even beat out Carlos Frias. Or is there another reason he is still in the minors?

not sure if this was posted already...
    • Scouts do much more than tally stats, of course, but they are not immune from the allure of racking up their own numbers. As MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick writes, Marty Lamb of the Dodgers received credit as the lead scout on three of the team’s top five choices, including first-rounder Walker Buehler, a fairly rare achievement. “Part of it is luck,” explains the veteran scout. “They’ve got to fall to the right places, and we’ve got to like them. … It’s fun, but I’m sure some of my buddies [fellow scouts] aren’t too happy with me right now, but it’s part of the game.”

    Re: Lee
Interesting...do you know what the differences in the development philosophies were ?
That would seem to be a problem for other players, too...unless it's something that has been culled out under this FO.

Nah the guys a dud. If you're behind Eric Stults and Carlos Frias on the depth chart you've got to be pretty shit. I'm betting our new first round draft pick will solidify himself in our rotation before Lee ever does. If only he were related to Bruce.
