Bellinger, Buehler and Alvarez are the only guys I say are untouchable even though I really like Verdugo and JDL. In fact fuck it, keep them all and tell the Twinkies good luck getting buried in the AL!!

Trevor Plouffe 3b, SS & 1B right handed bat would be a nice fit. Very versatile....

Luis Valbuena 3b, 2b, & 1b also sounds like a very nice fit. Left handed bat but he had some key hits for walk offs

If we can't get Dozier or Kinsler this is what I would be looking into

    JDL, Stewart, Calhoun
Take it or leave it Minnesota. Trade value will never be higher.

Doesn't sound like that is even close to the offer right now, which is a little wild.

The Twins have sent word out for all Dozier interested parties to come with their best and final offers. One reporter is saying that the Dodgers are still the best offer on the table, but it is not close to what the Twins want in return. Another Twins linked reporter thinks the Twins are still just trying to convince the Dodgers that they have other interested parties. Twins are apparently done beating around the bush and want to begin focus on other items.

Twins top 30 prospects is pitching heavy and only has 2 OF'ers among the top 20 so maybe they are asking for JDL, Verdugo, plus maybe Toles and/or Trayce? Knowing our FO I bet they are trying to fashion a blockbuster involving multiple teams. Something that Joel Sherman brought up today that we should MAYBE go after Lorenzo Cain (yeah I know an OF'er lol). He hits lefties apparently, interesting thought but that would be at the trade deadline. I'm just bored I guess.

It may be heavy with pitching, but it isn't top flight pitching. De Leon would very likely be their top prospect after a trade and he is an MLB ready pitcher which is something they are lacking. I think the team is really reluctant to include any OF'ers right now as, though we are loaded with them, each has huge question marks around them.

I would not mind sending Deleon and Verdugo for Dozier and one of Steven Gonsalves/Tyler Jay/ Nick Gordon

i don't see this trade happening tbh
twins have control of him for the next two years
and as long as he keeps producing his value is only going to increase
they're under no pressure to deal him except for payroll relief
deleon/verdugo (for example) might look like a steal 18 months from now

He sucks early on in the season.
Once the trade deadline is passed he becomes good.
That makes him hard to trade for the type of value they want as he is usually sucking when its time to trade.
This past season his second half wasnt just good but HOF level.
So this offseason might be the best value they can get for him.
He most likely wont be nearly as good the first half of next season which will make him be undervalued at the deadline.

IDK, he had a pretty mediocre season last year. He was a stud the year before, but if you look at his overall numbers, that may be an anomaly year and not the usual. I'd be more interested in a big bat that we can stick in LF.

He has a career 329 wOBA and a 106 wRC+ in the first half and 332 and 109 in the second half, this is made up.

If we still suck at hitting LHP, as we all suffered through last season, how does one guy, even if he does eventually start doing that, really change the whole thing that much. One? Two, yeah...
Now I'm not saying that we shouldn't go out and get this guy at all, instead of say, Utley/chubby kid in the minors alternative solution platoon...but will one guy at some point who hits LH at a decent clip be the ultimate fix?
I would imagine he can turn a DP though better than we have been. Seems pretty much a possibility.
Hope, if this all falls through, there is a viable way to go...other than " this year might be different with the team BA against LH".
It could be true. That would be great, whether we get Dozier or not.

for fucks sakes with the wobas and the wrcs.
    he is a career .246 .320 .442 .762 hitter.
and he is really bad vs righties other than his power
he really is another joc/grandal type of hitter except that he is better vs lefties than righties

last year he was horrible for the first two months and then had a monster june which was the best month of his career probably
he was so horrible the previous two months that even with his monster june his pre all star numbers were right around his career numbers .246 .335 .450 .786
while his post all star numbers were great .291 .344 .646 .990
the year before he sucked in april again but had good numbers in may and june but then sucked the rest of the year
if you keep going back every year there is a pattern
and that is that he sucks in april, starts very slow, specially with his AVG
some years he starts to get a little better overall in may and gets right by june
other times he doesnt get right till july
the middle of the year is his sweet spot
many times he ends up sucking late in the year too
    but the point still stands
that it is harder to get his top value as a trade chip before the deadline when he has had the slow start and his overall numbers are not that great
but in the offseason his numbers become better because he will always have that one hot streak that will make him look good
and the final home run total inflates his value a good bit
so its not made up that the guy is a more valuable trade asset for the twins in the offseason then at the allstar break

I'm not reading this whole thing. It's completely false that he's historically been bad in the first half and great in the second half. He's almost exactly as good in both halves.
