I like the fan vote. This sport is losing popularity. Regional sports networks are making MLB money hand over fist but the youth, Internet, prime time tv, etc is losing interest in baseball.

Too bad that Coors gets to him so badly. The first time initiated the surgery, I guess...and this time...whatever. Who knows medically if there is anything to do about it ?
If he can't go there...he can't go there. It's 9-10 games a year...I wonder if they would consider him not travelling there?
He can't be the only guy in the ML with Afib, can he?

    no it doesn't
it only counts for teams that make it to the world series
and since we haven't been there since reagan was president, it doesn't count... at least not for us

You mean Kenley "ate" a couple of nicklebags of coke, then took a dump?

This whole thing isn't adding up....like 2+2 suddenly equals 100.

I for one do care, considering the game does count and considering we have a realistic chance of making the world series, also when you consider how good we've been at home...

And the Cardinals are comfortably leading the NL Central. As long as they make the playoffs, the all star game is irrelevant for us.

Kenley Jansen cleared to pitch Thursday
D.J. Short | NBC Hardball Talk — 2 hours ago

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly revealed very little information to the media after Kenley Jansen was unavailable last night against the Rockies. Of course, Jansen has a history of heart problems, so this led to all sorts of speculation about his health. Fortunately, he’s just fine.

According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, Jansen is available to pitch for tonight’s game against the Cardinals. He felt sick to his stomach during the game last night and was found to have high blood pressure after being checked by a doctor, so the Dodgers held him out as a precaution. As for why Mattingly didn’t elaborate on his condition after the game, he said he was respecting the player’s wishes. So that explains that.

Jansen got a late start on the season after foot surgery, but he’s been outstanding since rejoining the Dodgers’ bullpen, allowing just one hit and no walks over six scoreless innings to go along with 11 strikeouts and five saves.

Mattingly says Jansen's absence was health precaution
by Mark Saxon | ESPN Staff Writer — 7 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers shed a bit more light Thursday on the mysterious circumstances that made their closer unavailable to them as their bullpen was blowing a two-run, ninth-inning lead to the Colorado Rockies the night before.

During Wednesday's game at Coors Field, Kenley Jansen was undergoing tests, including an electrocardiogram, to rule out a recurrence of the irregular heartbeat known as atrial fibrillation that had affected him three years earlier in Colorado, he said.

Jansen said he alerted the team's trainers that he had an upset stomach and headache in the first inning. He was treated with intravenous fluids and given some tests, including the EKG, which found that his heart was in a normal rhythm, Jansen said. Because his blood pressure was elevated and because of his history of A-fib, the consulting doctor recommended Jansen not pitch in the game.

"Kenley's had some history and I don't think anybody's willing, at this point, to take any chances with his health over trying to win a game," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.

The mystery grew in the wee hours of the morning at Coors Field after Mattingly gave only curt, vague answers when asked about Jansen's lack of availability after the game, repeating only that he was unavailable. Four Dodgers relievers walked three batters, gave up two hits and saw Colorado score three times to win it. Mattingly wouldn't even tell reporters whether it was a health-related matter or something else, which led to speculation.

Jansen did not speak to reporters after the game. He had told head trainer Stan Conte that he did not want the team to discuss his condition, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules protect players' privacy in such situations.

"There are all kinds of reasons why you wouldn't want to talk about something and alarm anybody at 1 o'clock in the morning," Mattingly said. "You respect a player's wishes at that moment."

On Thursday -- coincidentally Kenley Jansen bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium -- Jansen said he didn't speak after the game in part because of his frustration over how the day had played out. Jansen had an ablation to correct his irregular heartbeat in October 2012. He said he has had no diagnosed recurrences of atrial fibrillation since then.

"I didn't feel like talking about myself at that time," Jansen said. "When they started the IV, I had all these memories of all the stuff that happened there, like, 'Here we go again,' dealing with stuff like that. Then, you see how the ninth's going and you feel like you let your teammates down and all that stuff."

One of the primary symptoms of atrial fibrillation is acute anxiety. Jansen said his symptoms might have arisen because of his worry over having another episode of atrial fibrillation. He also thinks the mile-high elevation played a part.

"It gets you panicked a little bit," he said.

    lol
sounds like someone might be getting a little concerned about job security
glad he acknowledged that it’s not his decision, because the last thing we all need is another setback
i mean, how are you going to trade him for hamels or gray if he's one the shelf?:stirpot:

Yasiel Puig is hoping to rejoin the Dodgers this weekend
by Aaron Gleeman | NBC Sports Hardball Talk — 4 hours ago

Out since April 24 with a hamstring injury followed by multiple setbacks, Yasiel Puig is now on the verge of rejoining the Dodgers.

Puig went 2-for-4 with a double off the wall in a minor-league rehab game Thursday at Single-A and George Alfano of MLB.com reports that he “hopes to be back with the Dodgers this weekend.”

Puig specifically mentioned wanting to come off the disabled list for Saturday’s game, but added that it’s not his decision and it’s possible the Dodgers will want to play things a little safe to avoid another setback.

Also of note: Puig revealed that his hamstring is still “not 100 percent now, but it felt comfortable.”
