Turns out there is a gigantic loophole in MLB's all star voting. supposed to be able to vote 35 times per day per email. turns out if you have multiple emails and keep changing them back and forth after voting 35 times with each email again, you can vote 35 more times with that same email. rinse and repeat.

I just finished my All Star game voting for the day, 35x from 5 different email addresses.

I voted for nothing but Cardinals and giants. Fuck 'em. I want my guys to get a nice break, plus the All Star game is retarded.

Home field in the WS should just switch every other year like it used to. Or if you really want to base it on something, have it decided by which league does better in inter-league play for the year. The last time I watched an all star game it was still being managed like an exhibition game, so is it exhibition or does it mean something?

WTF is wrong with you? :chris: You are supposed to vote for the best possible players in the NL and the worst possible players in the AL, which means Posey, Goldshit, Dee, Harper, Joc, Arenado, Brandon Crawford (eek), etc. This game counts.

Another reason to hate the All Star game: this year will mark 35 years since the game has been in LA.

Since the last time the Dodgers hosted in 1980, the following teams have hosted TWICE:
White Sox, Angels, Twins, Astros, Pirates, Giants, Indians, (after this year) Reds, (after next year) Padres, and (after 2018) Expos/Nationals. And after 2017 when the Marlins host, the Rays will be the only team to not have hosted an All Star game since the Dodgers last hosted. Hell, we've won 2 WS since the last time we hosted an all star game.

Don't freak out, Chief :timmy: I got it covered...

With our team stacked with Cardinals and gnats the NL will be set to steal signs and string together 10 straight seeing-eye singles in the 4th inning. Because players and managers vote for pitchers, there's nothing I can do to stop Kershaw and Greinke from making the club and mowing down AL posers. Relax :mexirube:

I just read "dehydration"...why that illicited a tweet expressing sentiment about " prayers going out to Kenley" is beyond me.
If this holds up, and it was/is "dehydration", then will someone please tweet "you are a huge asshole as a professional athlete to let that happen to you".
It's fucking Colorado, not the Sahara Desert.
Of course, that as a reason for last night's mystery sounds very, very suspect, IMO.
    Don't get the info lockdown.

You'd think in the second largest market in the country and largest capacity stadium, that they'd be trying to put an all star game at Dodger Stadium as often as the NFL puts a Super Bowl in New Orleans

"Dehydration"? Not exactly the reasoning you would expect after the cryptic excuses last night. Games are long, can't he drink some water? Don't we have a medical staff that can hook him up to an IV in the locker room for 15 minutes?

Of course, another term for dehydration is "a hang over". Maybe Jansen broke some team rules and was being disciplined. That's the best guess I have, until the truth eventually comes out.

Up until the 2013 renovations, Dodger Stadium wasn't suited for an all star game. It was still a very nice ballpark in great condition. But the amenities were outdated. I still can't believe we had those standard definition nonmatching shaped scoreboards up until 2012. The visiting team had to walk through the Dodger clubhouse basically to get to the hitting cage. The food and facilities were outdated. So I get why it's been a long time. But the stadium is as great, if not better than when it opened 50 plus years ago. It's identical in appearance with all the modern amenities to go along with it. It's time!

Angel Stadium confuses me. Is it a dump? No. But it is so tacky and every bit as much outdated as Dodger Stadium was. Dodger Stadium at least was organic and not an old tacky stadium in Anaheim. Can't believe they got the game in 2010.

And this is what is wrong with the all star game. What good is it to say a player got millions of votes if a person can vote hundreds of times? Honestly, I haven't voted for all star players in YEARS, make that DECADES. If I were the commish, voting would go back to the players and managers, home field advantage in BOTH the AS game AND World Series would alternate each year, and each team would host the game one time every 30 years, regardless of their venue.

David Aardsma Opts Out Of Dodgers Contract
By Steve Adams [June 4, 2015 at 4:25pm CDT]
Right-hander David Aardsma has opted out of his minor league contract with the Dodgers and is now a free agent, MLBTR has learned (Twitter link). The veteran righty had a June 1 opt-out clause that triggered a 72-hour window for the Dodgers to place him on the 25-man roster, which expired today.

..1st we lose 2 out of 4 to Colorado and now we lose Aardsma?!? some genius front office we have.

their lack of communication and cryptic responses have made it thread worthy...

Jansen to get checked following unavailability
by Matthew Moreno | Dodgers Nation — 10 minutes ago

UPDATE (June 4, 2:50 p.m. PT): The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Kenley Jansen missed Wednesday’s game as he was feeling under the weather and he will be re-evaluated Thursday afternoon.

The Los Angeles Dodgers led by two runs when the bottom of the ninth inning began. Adam Liberatore took the mound after pitching the eighth, and Yimi Garcia and J.P. Howell warmed-up in the bullpen. Clearly, closer Kenley Jansen was unavailable, but why?

After the walk-off loss Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said simply Jansen was unavailable while refusing to provide specifics. A team spokesman later said Jansen couldn’t be called on because of sickness and the closer refused to speak with media.

With the Dodgers having returned to Los Angeles in the early hours of Thursday morning, the day’s plans include Jansen getting checked on, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:
While that may be cause for concern, Rosenthal adds the matter isn’t believed serious:
Jansen has previously missed time with atrial fibrillation and he had an irregular heartbeat during a trip to Colorado in 2012. He underwent surgery to address the heartbeat issue in October 2012 and has been fine since.

With his closer unavailable, Mattingly used four relievers in the fateful ninth inning — Liberatore, Garcia, Howell and Chris Hatcher. Hatcher was the only of the quartet to record an out, though it was Nolan Arenado’s game-winning sacrifice fly.

Dating back to May 29 and stretching to July 1, the Dodgers are currently in the midst of playing 34 games in 34 days. Their lone off-day in June is on the 11th and they begin a 10-game road trip in Chicago on June 22.

Thursday is the start of a seven-game homestand, beginning with a four-game set against the St. Louis Cardinals. Thursday is also Kenley Jansen bobblehead night.
